anotherchance
Smashing messaging as we start vaccinating the less vulnerable and potentially vaccine hesitant.
Ron Aldo
https://news.sky.com/story/covid-19-lockdown-is-main-reason-for-drop-in-coronavirus-cases-and-deaths-not-vaccinations-says-boris-johnson-12274266 Long suspected this myself. Ireland's numbers yesterday suggested so. Should pick up a few reddies for some uncomfortable truths. Not good newsSo if that's the case what's the point in vaccinations? It doesn't take a genius to work out Boris is talking pish. We've been in lockdown in some form or another for over a year but only now are we seeing a significant reduction across cases, hospitalisations and deaths. This is despite any number of scary new VARIANTS appearing since the turn of the year.Vaccines are clearly having an impact and I'm at a loss as to why almost every politician struggles to acknowledge that. Particularly when their still trying to convince a large number of people to take the vaccine.
super_carson
I suspect Johnson's comments (in line with change in massaging/tone/tact) is as much about balancing the pressure from Tory MPs to reopen faster alongside any backlash from the public should cases rise.

And lockdown observance is almost non-existent - the M50 ring road around Dublin is once again resembling a car park.

"Only things changing" as in the dates are changing from previous route map, or "only things changing" as in gyms, indoor hospitality etc is not re-opening on 26th? -

Which is a total cop-out. The organisation with the public health specialists is the Scottish Government, not the fucking Shetland Council.
