Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Tbf accepting the Sputnik vaccine has been a very polarising issue in Slovakia, which also appears to be matching in governments what Morton burn through in managers at the moment. I'd take this with a shovel of salt then until a more credible agency steps forward with similar findings.

Ferguslie Park residents thanked after hundreds turn out for community Covid19 testing

Residents of Ferguslie in Paisley have been thanked as the results of a one-week community testing blitz designed to help drive down rates of Covid19 in the area are revealed.

A drop in testing site was open in St Ninian’s Church Hall for one week from Wednesday 24 March, and anyone without symptoms of the virus who lived or worked in the area were invited to come along.

The site was run and staffed by Renfrewshire Council and the results were as follows:

- 327 people attended the unit, with 2 positive tests (0.6%)

Lots of Scottish football club owners made similar claims about fans being back by January 2020.

Tbf we should full capacity crowds back the end of august regardless.

Not sure why you'd need testing to attend tbh.  I don't think there's been any proper evidence of an outdoor gathering being a super-spreader event.  Even when the Cheltenham festival last year became the medias pet football to kick around it was all supposition.  None of it was evidence based.

Outdoor transmission is less than 1% of cases, 0.1% actually according to a report last week. Why people need to be tested to go to Hampden when A- it’s outdoors, B - I assume they’ll be wearing masks and C- they won’t be sitting with strangers shoulder to shoulder is beyond me

It is LFT and face masks.  you also have to check in to the venue using the NHS app.

You have to go to a testing centre either on the day or no earlier than the day before for a test and they post you one out to take 5 days after your attendance.

Is that for Hampden or the Crucible? Sounds like a lot of shit to go through to watch Scotland get humped

Can’t be far off having a zero deaths day that isn’t a Sunday/Monday. Was expecting a small surge in post bank holiday death registrations but doesn’t appear to have happened.. yet.

Case numbers seem to be falling drastically too. Seven day average this day last week was 461 and we’re obviously well down on that this week.

Keep it coming...

If deaths are about to hit zero without even finishing vaccinating the 9 priority groups then in the UK the pandemic is over.

It's time to get our lives back.

If we're talking about the UK pandemic then we're a wee bit away from zero deaths as a UK figure. They are massively down though- 7 day average yesterday was 30. One month previously it was 211.
