Let's not let a collective heads gone of an announcement, long flagged, has been confirmed as going ahead 2 and a half weeks from now. In between which, we'll have been given more info on what else is likely to be eased and when from then on also at next Tuesday's update

You may now return to the latest heads gone circle jerk.

This is true, but it's still worth pointing out the nonsense of it all, especially among the "data not dates" pish.

Can't meet your mate for a drink in a pub, go to the cinema or go to the gym but can you can go to a church full of 50 people

Arrange with your mates to meet up at the church, jog all the way there, knock back some communion wine and record the service on your phone to watch again later.

That should be all bases covered.........

Don’t know if this will work but worth a try! emoji6.png

In fairness when I was a frequent attender at Dens the phrases such as:

"For god's sakes"

"Jesus fucking christ"

"Fucking hell"

were used almost constantly throughout games, so you could be onto something here.

I know this is a joke, but I am really struggling not to completely give up on the restrictions that are within my control to ignore now. Really close to just heading home to my parents for the weekend.

Have your parents been vaccinated?

Trying to avoid a full heads-gone at the places of worship one.  I get the religion is important to a lot of people, I get that churches, mosques, synagogues etc. all do good work in their local community and I also understand that there are religious festivals coming up.
But at the same time, is it not wrong for the government to start cherry-picking what indoor socialising is acceptable, while preaching to us about the science?  It either is or isn't "safe" for 50 people to meet indoors with social distancing/masks, so why allow it for certain reasons but not others if this is a purely scientific decision? All of the arguments made for places of worship could be be applied to any number of clubs or organisations who will continue to be closed for some time.
Just to balance the frustration at that policy, I am pleased for there at least to be acknowledgement that further easing can happen should the data continue to go the way it is currently going and that vaccines appear to be reducing not only hesitations and deaths, but transmission too.  Will be interesting to see what the route-map looks like next Tuesday.
The road map next Tuesday is what matters - having a heads gone over today really is pointless.

Churches are a tiny demographic, meeting once a week. I'm choosing to view any easement of lockdown as a positive sign.

I would hope that pretty quick on the heels of that other forms of support group eg mental health suport groups in community centres would be allowed to meet.

I'm not sure churches and pubs are useful comparisons.

Church’s are a larger demographic than football stadiums.     Football fans would be meeting outside and providing economic boost,  whilst giving the same social benefits as those given for places of worship.

This decision has destroyed any messaging over needing to stick to the restrictions for the good for the common good.   With having vertically no social contact for months beyond once weekly seeing my dad but now genuinely struggling to see why I should continue with that.   You can’t make exceptions for some but not for others.

No, booked in for March 18 for first dose, which is the only thing stopping me. They have actively said they don’t care and happy for me to head home, but I would have to pass through several local authorities to get there so risking being fined by the police if I do eventually do it before officially allowed.

I am a church goer (help with live streaming) and they did a decent job of it before. The majority of them will be vaccinated more than likely. They don’t sing as well. However, if they’re open you should at the very least open cafes and restaurants. Cinemas as well, but maybe pointless with lack of new releases.

Do we think we'll get a full roadmap this time? Or another "that's May covered, come back in a month and we'll discuss June" type job?

Someone I know who's a polis drove from Edinburgh to Perth the other week just to take his new car a drive. Don't think they really care either at this point

Churches are a small demographic, but if you look at the rates in Pollokshaws East and the demographic of that area and the fact its multi-generational households who may generally visit their places of worship more than once a day and with indications that many will knock back the vaccine incase it impinges on fasting during upcoming festivals (certainly thats a concern that the mrs is telling me is considerable amongst the gp community), then it looks to me like a pretty stupid move to go for it so early.

They're going to end up calling off the lower league season (again) as a result of the Old Firm game in a few weeks, aren't they?

I reckon if there's another 'gathering' like Sunday they'll ask the league to postpone games. All eyes on the Old Firm in a couple of weeks then...

It would be the wrong thing to do IMO but nothing would surprise me now

Meet up at George Square, let your dad smash up some benches. It'll be fine.

After the antics of the *** hordes and this today, the roadmap really needs to be about staying just enough ahead of the public so as not to lose face.

Numbers have battered down since the tentative announcement of the route out. Just hope they have sense not to hold peoples livelihoods under the waterline much longer because they dont like beer drinkers and football fans.
