EdinburghPar1975
My wifes family are in London so i'd imagine we'd be off down there as she's not seen her 2 year old niece since this all started. I'd like to be able to have my Mum in the house as we've never been inside each others since this started, also to see my Dad in Gloucester. Fancy a nice getaway to a decent hotel for a few nights as well. As much as i'd like to get to a Pars game i'll be amazed if they allow crowds at the games again this season. I think for me just having to ability to do what i'd like to when i want to will be the best thing, not having to get annoyed at being restricted or wondering when we can book things or go places - but most likely i'll just moan and do f all
Le Tout P'ti FC
First thing I want to do is take my Dad out for a curry and a pint of T. Then I want to drive "home" to Islay, stand on Machir Bay, and probably have a wee greet just to process that finally we're through to the other end of this nightmare.Looks like I'll be missing my trip to Islay in Easter (which in itself is rolled over from Easter 2020), but honestly don't care much about this Easter if there are much better days to come around the corner.

Straight to the airport and getting the first available flight? Straight to the station hotel in Larbet for P&Bs official best pint of T? Straight round your neighbours for your hole? I'm off round my pals house to get steaming I expect to be there for a few days. My first child is 6 weeks old tomorrow and he has not had the chance to properly meet anyone on my side of the family due to travel restrictions, not even an outdoor visit or even at a window visit has been possible, just video calls. We'll be organising some sort of visit be it at theirs, at ours or somewhere in between. budmiester1
For me it's getting to see the family especially the 2 new additions whom we have only seen in photos or FaceTime, get back up to my boat and get her ready for the coming year.

Dons_1988
Our first child is due in may and just really hope our parents will be able to visit and meet her when the time comes. My mum in particular has really struggled with all this and not seeing any of us.

super_carson
I'm just basking in the general good mood of this thread for once, fully aware that NS will probably absolutely gut the shite out any positivity at 1215 today.
G51
The P&B "The Pandemic is over, how did you celebrate" is going straight in the gold forum isn't it. A wee bit to go until we get there, but it's in the post.

Hopefully this clip will soon be up on Youtube. Edited to ask why N a d h i m is blocked out? What about his point on care workers and NHS nurses. Refusing the vaccine. Pay them off if no jag? -

I hope not but given that it's unlikely today will be lower numbers than last Monday then i think it will still be a bit of a downbeat message - if they are doing highly targeted testing around the hotspots then the numbers are bound to be higher. Hopefully the positivity percentage remains below 5% again - would be good if NS did give a bit of good news about vaccines having great impacts and also gave some indication as to when mass vaccinations will be ramped up again

There is irrefutable proof from Scotland that vaccines are doing their job at reducing hospitalisations (and therefore deaths) but I suspect we will still be told about cases numbers and hypothetical variants and the need to be slow and cautious. Months of pointless, wall to wall fear-mongering could have been avoided by simply applying our long established experience of how vaccines work, rather than pretending that Covid is some special case where the rules don't apply. today is not a day to bring the old firm into it

If there are, they're in the wrong job. I know a home care worker who is refusing it "because it makes you infertile". She is unable to back this up with anything other than being sent a meme on Whatsapp about it. But I would not want her going anywhere near any of my relatives who need home care. Anyway. I'm loving the mood of this thread today. Normally I come in to vent my frustration or see other people getting angry, which in turns makes me feel better about all the pent up emotions I have. Today it's been fantastic actually looking forward with a bit of excitement for the everyday things that we've been missing out on. Nicola better not drain my positive Monday mood in approximately six minutes time.

If there are, they're in the wrong job. I know of a respiratory nurse who has said he'll refuse it. He's been working with COVID patients and in COVID wards since this started and since he hasn't caught it so he thinks he's got some sort of natural immunity. "Why take something I don't need?" was the explanation. There are just as many morons working in care than in any other industry.

I'm doing the same. Great to see. NS has actually re-tweeted Sky News' story about the vaccines, so even she would seem to be finding it good news. As I said earlier, today and tomorrow she must change her tone.

If the vaccine is producing those kind of reductions 4 weeks after first dose in the most vulnerable people, what's it going to do in those who were unlikely to get seriously ill in the first place? Jeeso - you really will find a negative in absolutely everything (and you say NS is negative....wow)
