Caledonian1
Not listened to the briefing today - what dumb questions have the journalists come out with today? More about "Alex Salmond inquiry"? "I know a 71 year old who has still to receive an appointment - what has gone wrong? followed by the same question, and again and then a question asking for an exact date as to when a family of four can go to Cancun on holiday?
effeffsee_the2nd
This is pretty off topic, however we were discussing yesterday about civil liberties and freedom of speech and I find this ruling to be absolutely terrifying. The more I think about it, the more I believe that people should just stop using all social media, giving their honest opinion or posting anything that can be used to screw them over at a later date, even if it's by no means outrageous. Of course the fact I'm typing this on an internet forum does have a certain irony...... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-55981600Maybe if you’re going to talk shit about someone pick on some daft painter and decorator or gardener instead of a fucking law firm who can sue you at no expense to themselves! I just find this ridiculous and is setting a very dangerous precedent.

No, what people need to learn is what can constitute a defamatory statement and not plaster them over the internet.
Guest
UK and Irish residents returning from coronavirus hotspots face fines of up to £10,000 and 10-year jail sentences if they break new travel rules, Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said. People who are required to quarantine in hotels will have to pay £1,750, which covers the cost of accommodation, transport and testing.

That was his problem, that it’s not ok to make claims about their business that aren’t true. If he sticks to his opinion that are a rubbish company and doesn’t recommend them, this goes nowhere. I’m not sure he helps himself by asking for his money back to take down the review afterwards either.

Find me one company with "reviews" which doesn't have any negative / defamatory statements about them, ultimately it's your opinion based on your own experience and going by what the bloke said, I don't think he's said anything really outrageous as he obviously felt ripped off. Yes, you do get the nonsense stuff but I wouldn't have this in that category. The bottom line is that people should just stop giving reviews as it only costs them time and they get nothing out of it, however they are potentially risking a huge fine if someone doesn't like what they've said.
RiG
My folks have received a text message offering them their first vaccination at the very suspicious sounding "Vaccination Bus" that will be at their local GP surgery.

In the over 70s the acceptance rate is 99% in this survey. Very high acceptance rate in the 50-79 age group as well. Very encouraging. Which shows just how pointless talk of vaccine passports are for any sort of access to public events domestically.

She wasn’t letting any snow stop her from getting it though she’s lucky enough that her health centre is only a few minutes away from her. Wouldn’t surprise me if there is a drop in numbers compared to this time last week, nothing to get worried about though. There is a local taxi firm (A&B) who are taking auld folk for their jag and waiting for them then taking them back home again. This morning they picked me up, took me to my GP surgery then took me home again. All free of charge. Kudos to them. My vaccine was the AstraZeneca one and I was given a note which said that I would be contacted by the practice to arrange my 2nd vaccination in approx. 10 weeks time. ps.
