On the talk of vaccine passports etc. It’s unfortunate that we do not have the technology in place so that when you get your vaccine, they can’t send you a Qr code or something to your phone. The majority of us have our phones on us at all times. A simple tap of your code on a wee machine and you are good to go.
I realise this may be a nightmare logistically and that you could potentially alienate the older folk.

Infections have dropped EVERY day  (Is that clear enough Nicola ?) since the  aforementioned peak.  Total drop is now 31.33%   For me the poorly performing South & West of the country are clearly dragging everyone down now.  Back when Tier 4 was first threatened it was Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire & Renfrewshire.

I was messaged one of those links that suggests when I will get my jab. I know they are a near enough wild guess but based on nothing but me being in my mid (to late) 30s it suggesting I could get jabbed in the first 3 weeks in April.

That can't be right can it? I thought I'd be about September or something.

If you are in Scotland you will not be jabbed but you will be jagged (incidentally for Super Bi Girl it's Levels and not Tiers in Scotland - BBC Scotland do this too )

These online calculators are rubbish and many are based on current rate of vaccination when we all know rates will ramp up once all the centres receive the Vauxhall Astra vaccine.

Suspect April to be a bit early but would think your age group might be May / June

Just had a look at mine - note they use vaccination rate of 400,000 but still refer to the Scottish Gov plan so not sure how accurate their calculator might be.  I am 56.  I do not expect to be rolling my sleeve up between the 17th and 23rd March.

Based on your profile, there are between 1,930,462 and 2,168,106 people in front of you in the queue for a COVID vaccine across Scotland.

Given a vaccination rate of 400,000 a week and an uptake of 74%, you should expect to receive your first dose of vaccine between 17/03/2021 and 23/03/2021.

You should then get your second dose by between 09/06/2021 and 15/06/2021.

Anyone know of there's any plans to roll out further vaccines to people that have already had one - what I mean is, (not sure if this is still the case) but are the initial vaccines not meant to make sure the disease is not so severe, with vaccines due to come on at a later date that they know will completely stop transmission? So if you get the first type, is there any plans to give the second in the future or do you just go with what you got? I understand the thought is that we'll need boosters after a certain time period, like the flu jag.

I suppose I just kind of answered my own question.

I suppose I just kind of answered my own question. 

They're working on one now that they hope will protect you against all coronaviruses, and it doesn't even need a needle, just a tiny high pressure jet.

The population of Barra is 1078 people (give or take a few), so an infection rate of 'over 1000 per 100,000' people means, err,  eleven or twelve people got the infection in the past week. A handful of families could account for it.

This underlines the idiocy of those making sweeping judgments about populations 'behaving' or not when the infection rates in question are actually tiny.

Except the Area covered has 38 cases out of 3085 population and is rising.  Yes the numbers are low but not as low as you imply.  

This explains the idiocy of certain posts

Mother in law just returned from getting her jag at the GP.  Included with her leaflet was the Astra Zeneca information sheet so presumably that's what she got.

38 per 3085 people is the same rate of community transmission as the eleven/twelve people on Barra itself who tested positive. Which leaves 1066 others who have got f**k all to do with it, other being the target of your horseshit, braying denunciations.

You can see exactly why governments opted for the 'per 100k' metric, as they knew fine well it would hit the sweet spot for 'they're not followin Thu Rools!1!!!' idiocy.

Invergordon is full of utter roasters and unemployment.  Was there a few weeks ago and half the folk in the shops weren't wearing masks.  A lassie serving didn't have one on either.  There's parties getting broken up most nights too.  They're going to spoil a potential return to Tier 1 for the rest of the Highlands.

Just took my mum to Polmont Health Centre. From leaving car to getting back in was 7 mins. Vaccine done, appointment in 12 weeks and information sheet. Very efficient.
