Dr Yong wrote on his Facebook page that Thais do not need to be alarmed but warned the authority must pay more attention to English visitors.

Ok, we're safe.

I bet they Kentish family are on Facebook calling the Thais “a disgrase”.

That family will not have access to the wifi/internet incase it starts to spread that way. We're ahead of the curve.

From The Herald’s (apparently) verbatim transcript of the roolz:

Examples of reasonable excuses to leave the home:

(a) obtain or provide—

(i) food and medical supplies for those in the same household (including animals in the household) or for vulnerable persons,

(ii) supplies for the essential upkeep, maintenance and functioning of the household, or the household of a vulnerable person,

(b) work or provide voluntary or charitable services, where it is not possible for the person to do so from home,

——

Up to your own common sense interpretation but I think you can do both as you fall into (b) quite comfortably. A plumber/joiner can’t work from home unless you can tell me otherwise? Wear a mask, client keeps their distance (not yakking in the room where you are fitting the radiator)  wash hands on way in and out and ventilate the space while you’re there.

The zero risk option is don’t go but zero wages can also be quite harmful to health.

We’ve had clear and specific instructions that in Tier 4 we can’t send tradespeople into customers’ houses for non-emergency work.

ETA self-employed tradespeople can claim grant support, it’s reasonably generous though takes a while to receive.

The Sky news go to SAGE boffin said last night that IF their modelling is correct he would expect the R number to reduce by at least 0.2 by the end of next week and 0.4 by ten days later with schools by then having been closed for between 3-4 weeks. SG should publish latest R on Thursday so be interesting to see the fall over the following 2 weeks. Another good test of the "science"

Gove with a pretty bleak outlook for England

As much as I detest Gove and his like, this is probably the closest they've come to telling the truth.

Scotland will go the same way.
