Scotty Tunbridge
Schools closed until February 1st.If that’s the only difference well done wee Nic. Can see her shutting construction, takeaways and limiting outdoor time again in this speech though
Granny Danger
BBC saying it’s a March style lockdown, I don’t see anything in Sturgeon’s speech that supports this.

DeeTillEhDeh
Because the Cabinet Secretary for Health can't possibly be expected to know how vaccine procurement works before flapping her trap to the media. That not actually being the case, it is in fact still the SG's responsibility to deliver on its pledge, or for heads to roll when they don't. It's really that straightforward. It is obvious that the UK government told the Scottish Government what they were getting - what else do you think they should base their prediction on?

renton
Did Sturgeon not just say they expect to have access to 900,000 doses by the end of January, including the 100k already vaccinated.
ICTJohnboy
Refreshing to listen to someone so definitive, spelling out clearly what steps will be taken in this present situation. Contrast this with the mutterings and ditherings from the likes of BJ, Hancock and Williamson.
MP_MFC
Pretty clear around vaccines too. Hopefully it comes as planned.
Billy Jean King
So bar churches, cosmetic surgery clinics and ski centres closing and a 2 week extension to schools it's as you were basically. Oh and 900k vaccines by end of January so not a kick in the arse of the "wild" 1m Freeman shouldn't have mentioned !!!

harry94
25 minutes ago, virginton said: The facts are that the SG pledged that one million Scots would be vaccinated by the end of the month and it is going to get nowhere near that self-declared target. No matter how many times you try and deflect the blame for this elsewhere, the buck stops with the Cabinet Secretary who made this claim and can't deliver on it. The statement was that the SG would recruit the vaccinators and other support staff to facilitate around a million doses by January if the vaccine availability and delivery schedule kept pace. The Cabinet Secretary was responsible to get the underlying infrastructure in place and communicate progress on that, that's precisely what she did and she was required to report updates on this with some figures on how they were to spec their targets to get the necessary number of staff in place. Obviously the responsible thing to do was to focus this on the upper end of predictions on procurement, the statement you are referencing didn't discuss and wasn't intended to discuss the mechanics of that. The current delivery schedule is to have 900k vaccines into the health care system by the end of the month and the system, for the moment, appears like it will be resilient to facilitate the faster roll out to the sorts of numbers we're talking about. Procurement isn't falling that far short of what was being speculated and worked to in the early stages. Aufc
It is pretty mental that we are a year down the line and basically back to square one. The obvious difference is thw vaccine but that doesnt look like it will be getting done as quickly as intially promised
