Leaving aside my personal dislike of Leitch and Sridhar, what are these awards for?

Our response in general was poor, we have one of the highest deaths per capita in Europe, and we are looking at a large part of the country being under tight restrictions again over winter, following a longer set of restrictions a few months ago supposedly designed to prevent that.

Who looks at that objectively, and decides "let's give these people an award"

It was probably Div tbh. Making sure you don't take another holiday from your full time job of being raging on this thread to keep up the ad revenue.

Our school surveyed staff this morning to ask if these measures should be extended to all pupils.

Not surprisingly staff overwhelmingly voted in favour.

This will be for our school only but I think other schools will be doing the same.

How are they going to enforce that?

Your school might want all pupils to wear masks, but the law is going to be S4-S6. How are you going to get the BGE pupils to wear them?

As an addition to the school's own procedures - a letter is going out to parents/guardians right now.

Pupils have just been informed - there was a very positive response tbqh - the pupils feel that if Seniors have to wear them then everyone should.

There will still be exemptions but they are all recorded.

My understanding is that DCC asked all secondary schools to consult staff on this today - it would not surprise me if this is implemented across all 8 Dundee secondary schools.

Looks like we are about 3 weeks ahead of rUK and our numbers have dropped over a 2 week period in October. I am baffled by why this could be the case.

Interesting. Our schools went back 3 weeks before rUK too...

That NI trend is very odd.

Facebook maws losing their shit LR&C about the poor wainns being unable to breathe because of masks.

I genuinely can't believe that masks affecting breathing still has any traction whatsoever, even in the densely populated idiot community.

I'll give it till Wednesday for the Scottish Mail or Express leading with kids get high by pouring tipex in masks

Those graphs are a reet puzzler. Can anyone think of anything that might have happened about three weeks ago that could have led to a reduction in transmission and cases? At a loss here.

Not everyone came off 3 weeks ago.

We were off 4 weeks ago.

Infections in Dundee started rising towards the end of the school holidays and in the first few days back so god knows what is going on here.

Probably a lot of complex reasons, including students returning, cross-authority transmission etc.

We can completely disregard the schools because Dundee was off the week before.

Keep that head firmly buried in the sand. Absolutely unbelievable refusal to accept the blatantly obvious.

No surprise - the clique running to support each other.

I've consistently said that there are a complex set of reasons why infections have risen. Find me a post where I have explicitly said that schools are not a factor - you won't.

The post originally implied it is schools being off that has slowed infections - I just pointed out that for Dundee that just might not be the case as infections started to rise here towards the end of the 16 day holiday - as I said - I really don't know what has driven it up here.

I love the way Professor Jason Leitch has taken up residency rent free in the heads of so many sad social media posters none of whom will ever come close to holding such an important and high profile job.

By that logic Donald Trump is the greatest man on earth
