Benjamin_Nevis
What are peoples' observations on adherence to the "No visiting other households" rule? In the SG "paper" released on Tuesday, they said that 97% of respondees to a survey said they were following that rule. As one of the virtue signalling middle class working from home on full pay, I've seen friends and family of most of my neighbours entering their homes since that rule returned.I've been visiting my mum to help her out once or twice a week. My dad's in hospital long term following a bowel cancer op which he followed up by tripping over his hospital bed sheets going for a pish and breaking his hip [emoji58].

I feel sorry for folk with real mental health issues. I’m sure the stress of COVID has pushed some into this category and made others worse. However not being able to go to the pub is not a mental health issue. It is getting overused by everyone who has an objection to the restrictions.
Jim McLean's Ghost
Every Coronavirus news report is the same. Go somewhere affected by new rules > Everyone agrees something must be done > But not anything that personally inconveniences them

Well if he meant 'in the whole world' then even the 'thousands' claim is pretty fucking meaningless, isn't it? Quote Edit: I know 2 people who were hospitalised. Both have damage showing in lungs on cxr and ct. Well that's us up to 2, if the people in question are actually between 20 and 39. We can also throw in a friend that I know who claims to have struggled recovering, but given that they were working in a hospital in London in February-March I doubt that's particularly representative of a typical case. Just the multiple thousands still left to go then! Quote We have no idea how common it is. Rather strange defence to make of a post that was 100% certain that 'thousands' of 20-30 year olds in the UK have been floored by the long Covid bogeyman tbh. Either we do know in which case that figure is obviously bollocks, or we don't know in which case it's only almost certainly bollocks. Maybe a lot of people are worried they are going to see struggling faamily and not be in a position to help them. And that is on top of the huge unemployment figures and the looming risk of more and more businesses downsizing and letting people go. Every other day there seems to be a good sized company swirling the drain. And then the added health worries. Anxiety about not being able to visit elderly relatives or friends. General detachment from socialising. It isn't just about going to the pub. The coronavirus is a multi-front assault for a lot of people.

I actually broke my first rule tonight and went for the pub funeral with two households, I've blindly followed until now.

Maybe I’m the only person who doesn’t have a problem. I’m simply pissed off with it all. -
