The number of people on social media who have mis-understood the restrictions is unreal.

Glad to have been off The Facebook during these Covid times.

Think I would have blocked 90% of my family by now.

Unrelated to today’s stuff but I have to laugh when you hear people say “well you can’t blame the government if people ignore the restrictions” like stupid me for assuming the government also had the power to compel people to follow the rules they enact or expecting them to take possible flouting into consideration

Definitely feels like she's lost the dressing room here. Just from family/friends/colleagues and folk i follow on social media, it seems the general opinion of her and the SG have taken a nosedive the last few days and massively today.

I don't think there was ever going to be a mass celebration about pubs and restaurants closing. It's certainly not a popular decision but I can't see a mass defection to the Scottish Tories or Labour as they don't actually have any policies other than criticism and of course their masters in London are actually pursuing similar policies to that of the SG.

That’d be the wording then.  If there’s mass misunderstanding, then that’s on the government.  They have to know by now that the electorate is a bunch of imbeciles, surely?

If your grans already in the pub i believe you can go to her house.

But you can't have your hole unless you're outside the 5 designated areas.

I mean I suppose this might encourage the government to acknowledge the huge, big school/university shaped elephant in the room in a couple of weeks time.

When infections go down in 2-4 weeks after the pubs/schools close it will be solely because the pubs were closed with no mention of the schools.

It couldn’t have been clearer.

The issue is people getting their news from Facebook etc

Think it will do the opposite. Cases will go down and they can point to hospitality restrictions as working, then open the schools along with hospitality at the same time and the inevitable rise in cases are due to hospitality not schools.

Elephant ignored.

They'll have to wait til after Santa's been surely?

He won't be allowed in any households to deliver presents.

Kids will just have to go to the pub to get their gifts, then.

And as someone else said, they'll carry on until the Christmas holidays and the cycle will be repeated.

Equally when cases go back up again (which they will) guess who'll get the blame.

Fully agree.

Think the last couple of weeks has been a tipping point, and that could be very bad for sturgeon's long term success - and possibly independence (although hopefully folk will be able to separate the two).

I think a lot of people are just frustrated with it. We’ve pretty much lost a year of our lives due to both the Scottish and UK government’s making some pretty big mistakes.
