Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Recommended Posts

All that has changed is pubs are closing slightly earlier, home working recommended and only being able to socialise in groups of 6 people (unless you're in an educational setting).

Cases are higher than they were under a proper lockdown but these measures are going to halt the second wave.

It is absolutely embarrassing and frankly insulting.

Most of what Boris has just announced is what we already have here in Scotland. Reckon Nicola will go further than this... Going to be an interesting afternoon.

The only way it gets tighter is if they copy Northern Ireland.

6 months...ooft.

Lots of po-faced remarks about people enjoying one last blast before restrictions in. Who can blame them when even a government notorious for over-promising thinks these restrictions may be in place for six months? No danger these will be the final measures either.

Good luck enforcing this as well - people won't stand for six months of it.

There’s a lot of debate about whether or not the temp checks actually do any good or not. Reports say that folk being temp checked have been “ok” , yet they’ve actually had asymptomatic covid

Just a case of being seen to do something without really doing anything substantial because they know this second wave is an inevitable consequence of the earlier lockdown and a phase that we were always going to have to pass through on the journey back to normality.

Deaths are not much more than 1% of what they were in April so comparing case numbers now to what happened back then would be almost comically misleading if the subject matter were different. But hey anything for an attention grabbing headline.

You had to have severe symptoms that could lead to hospitalisation to be tested back then. Now suspected mild and asymptomatic cases are being tested in huge numbers. Apples and oranges in other words.

My grand daughter has had a temperature for the past 2 days and was sent home from nursery, they have said for her to be tested so i now have self isolate until the test results come back.

My two nephews (nursery age and toddler) had to get tested. I’d have some reassuring grandpa chat prepared and be ready to do a bit of wrestling. My brother said getting the youngest swabbed was like trying to hold a fish.

We are going to draw on military support for the police.  Send in the tanks!

Yaaas! Should’ve done this back in February since we already knew c***s wouldn’t do what they’re told and we don’t have enough police.

Guest Bob Mahelp

Did the fat Tory c**t announce help for the hospitality industry ?

I'm stunned that such a huge industry, such a massive part of UK life that employs hundreds of thousands of people, and which is hardest hit by these measures, gets so little support.

It's almost as if these people who are barmen, waiters or hotel staff are below worth worrying about.
