I haven’t seen Johnson’s speech but I’m genuinely curious as to what you mean by that? Seems England are tightening restrictions, not loosening them based on initial reaction.

They are restricting the size of gatherings, but aren't removing your ability to go to work, socialise, go to a pub or restaurant so long as you do do in small groups.

Add in the ambitious plan to have new rapid tests on trial as early as next month which are aimed at identifying who can safely enter a crowded environment, rather than who cannot, and it's a plan the SG should be interested in helping with.

Let's use an NHS worker as the example because had you actually tried reading for comprehension then you'd have found that:

...right there in the second paragraph of the post you just quoted, you thick f**k.  So in the case of an NHS worker then no such replacement would be required as the local hub would be taking responsibility for their childcare. If on the other hand you're a replacement-level drone with no key worker relevance then it's sit in the house time for you. Your entire 'but... but... key workers!' straw man is therefore completely redundant.

Perhaps had you obtained superior qualifications like myself then you wouldn't have put forward such an utterly moronic argument here. Then again even a five year old could have done a better job than a fully-grown, shit-flinging imbecile like yourself.

Absolutely devastated for you champ.

Another whataboutery laden disasterpost. Got as far as bold bit and stopped as again, you’re wrong, struggling with context and just understanding very simple things.

If a nurse/doctor or whatever is seriously ill or dies from covid, at least there are ready made replacement aplenty and every key worker has a spouse, other family member or local hub readily available at all hours to care for the kids and run them to school.

Thick f**k.

Right. Like the rest of Europe then?

I think every country in the world would happily use such a system if the tests are reliable. I’ll believe it when I see it - Vallance/Whitty sounding significantly less optimistic than Johnson on that front.

Another genuinely cretinous 'point', as the children of a key worker would be getting the exact same hours of external childcare support at a local key worker hub as they would from a full-time school being open. It is not the government's job to ensure that parents have 24/7 emergency childcare provision outside of those hours either way and so your latest weepy analogy is once again completely irrelevant.

It's probably best that you just stop digging now having made such a roaring c**t of yourself. You hate to see it happen.

More to the point, who's going to be paying for these "wonder" tests ??

Oh they've got an ambitious plan, well that's everything sorted then. A wee bit like their ambitious tracking app that was absolutely shite and got binned. Why would you believe anything that comes out of Johnson's mouth?

I don't get at all why this is copying the Swedish model. All they've announced is planning a trial of a new unproven antibody test that won't be available to the Spring, even if it works. That's been on the wish list from the start, everywhere on the planet. All the other moves are increasing restrictions that if the SG announced you would say were utterly mad.

OK, my last game was over fairly quickly with new restrictions being brought in by 10pm last night.  So one for a longer term.
How long will the number of new cases continue to rise, both in Scotland and the rUK?

I'll await the SG reaction tomorrow first.

No, you have to give an estimate tonight.  If you don't you won't be valid for the prize that I've arranged.

It would need tens of millions per week every week. How the hell do you test every fan attending every sporting event every day plus theatres, conferences etc. Moonshot doesn't come close. In principle the policy of every citizen holding a Covid passport (that's what it is) is sound but the cost and logistics will be mind boggling. Supply, distribution, software it's staggering. Also raises the age old question of national ID schemes as it would require something very close. If that is the plan to get non SD crowds back to sport and leisure then we can forget it for literally seasons.

Who the f**k is going to sign up for this social gathering marshal job? Good luck declaring that two tables of four are having a wee bit too much interaction on a Saturday night with your stupid hi-vis and clipboard m8.

Why is our News so bloody insular ?

Why do they not make it clear that what's happening in this country is merely mirroring what's happening across the whole of Europe to varying degrees ??

I think if the msm spent more time on reporting actual news and interesting current affairs from around Europe rather than telling us all what the Kardashians etc are getting up to, then people might generally appreciate situations better.

Happy Hour Reaction GIF

So, wait, England are applying massive brakes to reopening society, making it an arrestable offence to gather in groups bigger than 6, indoor or out, with the suspension of larger crowd events as well. The mitigation is a mass testing scheme that won't be available to the Spring, and in the short term a bunch of Covid marshals wandering around telling folk off like a combination East German informer/ Spinster aunt.

I am really not convinced that fits with your views on swiftly moving to an open society with only moderate, honours system style distancing a la Sweden.
