Fucking mental man, a 21 year old living like a 21 year old.

Somebody phone the papers.

I think you've missed the point. He's putting his workmates at severe risk.

This makes me feel a bit queasy

Me, with Ulcerative Colitis, would fall under the umbrella term of "having a disability."

I'm not convinced this is anything new, except the sensationalist headline.

If he was a severe risk to you all I’d wager someone would’ve been ill by now.

You better stay in the house for the next 18 months until they find vaccine m9.

I reckon you'd struggle to find a workplace where any 1 particular employee had not been partaking in illicit socialising. Irrespective of age or telling you about it.

Are they increasing the risk? Yes. But from absolutely miniscule to miniscule.

"Severe risk" is nonsense.

Doubt Christmas markets will be banned while shopping centres remain open, surely you're safer outdoors than inside, busy or not?

Most of the market holders are from various parts of Europe. They might not want to take the risk of coming over to the sick man of the world (well aside from USA and Brazil)

I find it slightly amusing that any time deaths drop somewhere (except Scotland) the first go to is that they must be counting the deaths differently (which may be true vs the UK, but is still likely to be consistent with all other figures from that country), or that they are lying.

TBF I think there's more chance at least earlier on their deaths could have been overcounted as they were for some reason getting more money for a covid death than a normal one.

Now the shit has properly hit the fan a few states are fiddling the figures to make them look better (Florida for eg, and a few aren't releasing certain stats that make them look bad- that might just be infections rather than deaths, although I've read a few reports of proper trump states having a bizarre increase in pneumonia deaths this year(!?) .

Quite hard to see through how partisan shit is over there though, and absolutely anything you read could be pure lies, so probably best just expecting their death count to be the actual death count and hoping for the best.

I don't want to start a big argument, but I saw this picture from Austria on twitter and it has annoyed me slightly.

Obviously we can't be out in Glasgow like this because the weather is pish, and we are not allowed outside with a beer after 10pm, but that's not really the point.

I don't understand how "the science" in Austria allows for this, but "the science" in Scotland seemingly requires us to remain parked on our arses at home, and does not allow for a person to enter another person's house or else children won't be able to go to school in 5½ weeks time. Not only that, but when "the science" will allow us to venture out to enjoy ourselves, we'll need to have perspex screens seperating us if we wish to be in the same postcode as someone outwith our household. It is surely the same science?

Personally I am tired of "the science" being used as a throwaway term by the likes of NS and JL to justify whatever disjointed bollocks they want to decide on on any given day.

'The science' is not an exact thing. A quick google suggests the R number in Austria is above 1 and they seem to have more positive tests per head of population than Scotland.

Perhaps we now have it right with regards measures and they have it wrong. Or is it just 'they're doing what I want us to do so I assume they are making good decisions and we are making bad ones?'

It's got nothing to do with what I want tbh.

It's a genuine question.

The science says that to eliminate the virus in your country, in a closed system, a lockdown of sorts should remain in place until active cases are 0. Everything else is a political decision based on acceptable mortality rates, damage to the economy and the impact of restrictions on health and wellbeing and civil liberties.

'Why are we not making the same decisions as country x?' is like asking if there is a perfect political ideology,  why don't all countries elect the exact same types of political parties. There is no one size fits all.

This is obvious.

The gripe I have with the SG is they repeatedly proclaim no Covid-19 related decisions at all are political in any way.

They don't want to own their decisions.
