Mon the Polis.

I suppose I wouldn’t be surprised if there were now some sackings and then a major apology from the chief constable similar to the Maitlis issue the way this country is going just now.
Hopefully I am wrong and it is Westminster the resignations are, however every day they try and hold on is a bonus for the Indy movement.

I wonder who the sacrificial lamb will be? Jenrick tends to get wheeled out when they're expecting extra flak. I don't reckon Hancock or Johnson will be anywhere near, as the press have had all day to talk to the people actually supposed to be delivering the new tracing lark.

Probably Shapps again. Patel would be interesting, given she's supposedly responsible for the police.

Patel would be delicious, but she's probably drawing up more deportation orders for the wrong kind of brown people. Or looking into the case of the Pakistani couple presened to Johnson the other day. Nah, that'd be mad.

I try to be objective and try to avoid being sycophantic, but while the SG government is so heavily restrained I will usually be willing to give it a pass.

I keep harping back to Cygnus and am surprised more politicians aren’t referencing this, but if the U.K. government had taken pandemic planning seriously then all parts of the U.K., including those with devolved administrations, would have been better prepared.

We will only be able to hold the SG to full and proper accountability after Independence because only then will they be fully responsible.

I think that is for later, but in the meantime get on to your MP & MSPs. Something along the lines of what you wrote to that hotel chain should do it.

Not much point in me getting on to my MP.

Anyone know who’s pulled the short straw for tonight’s briefing?

Hoping for Gavin Williamson, he's got real potential. Could see him doing a Some Mothers do 'Ave em style sitcom after his brief political career.

It says a lot for just how catastrophically sh*t the Tories have been that we've all completely forgotten that, this time last year, he was sacked as Defence Secretary for being a threat to national security.

Bound to be Shapps, just to give him further opportunity to hone his Ben Swain impersonation.
In fact, as a collective bunch of uselessness, the Westminster government could be renamed as "The Ben Swain Experience"......

It’ll be one of these cnuts. If ever I waver in my support for Scottish independence, one look at Cameron and Johnson in this photo, alongside their cunty Etonian dandy chums, and I’m sorted. When’s Indyref2 again?

Pretty much my thoughts as well. I don't like the Tories and I don't trust a thing they or Cummings say most of the time. When this saga unfolded they should have just held up their hands and say bad judgement, sorry for letting people down etc. There would have been a fair amount of folk unhappy but owning the mistake would have been the best thing to do.

Instead they doubled down, blamed anyone else they could, said the police and others were lying and dig themselves an almighty whole and didn't even apologise! Idiots.

ETA: Hell of a picture accompanying the story

It's not even about Cummings any more, it's about Johnson's judgement.

Well if they aren't working she's probably already sent the heavies round for a dawn raid.
