I'd be getting back on to the Durham cops and asking why the Government are saying they are lying

Are they? My interpretation is that Schapps said "that's what Dom said" and that they're waiting to see how bad public opinion against TheDom turns out or if what Dom says about no-one from the polis talking to his family says can be proven to be untrue - no doubt hairs will be split.

Shapps says Cummings’ statement says at no stage was any member of the family spoken to by the police.

Q. Does that mean the police are not speaking straightforwardly?

Shapps says he’s unsure where that confusion comes in but the statement is black-and-white.

If Dominic Cummings stays on, it will make Boris Johnson look not just hypocritical but weak

https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/dominic-cummings-boris-johnson-lockdown-coronavirus-durham-resign-a9529541.html

''For Cummings to keep his place in No 10, when Neil Ferguson, the Sage scientist, and Catherine Calderwood, the Scottish chief medical officer, lost theirs for breaking lockdown guidelines, will look bad. It would make Johnson appear to tolerate one rule for his favourite and another for everyone else.

Hypocrisy may not be a charge that will trouble the prime minister unduly. What ought to worry him is that he will look weak. Already dogged by persistent suggestions that he is still not back to full health after his encounter with the “invisible mugger”, Johnson looks as if he is so dependent on his adviser that he is prepared to bend the rules to keep him.''

None of the people you mention were politicians, and nor were they people at the heart of government.

A large chunk of the Tories have little time for Johnson, let alone Cummings.  Really, Johnson did a job for them in winning an election.

They've got another 5 years.

From a Tory point of view..., who needs Johnson now ?

Just asking.

Just back in and watching today’s briefing.  Professional advisors now allowing themselves to be co-opted by the government; that is shameful.

Everyone of those advisors who have stood up alongside the politicans ,

right from the beginning, have compromised themselves.

Yes, it is shameful.

Coronavirus: Boris Johnson and Keir Starmer accused of making NHS scapegoat for care home crisis

''Hospital bosses have accused Boris Johnson and Keir Starmer of making the NHS a scapegoat for the Covid-19 crisis in the country’s care homes.

Luckily in Scotland the NHS is a devolved issue and its the SNP that were in charge of the care home crisis.
