Live broadcasts from the Scottish Parliament building with absolutely no social distancing in evidence. Newsrooms in clear view during broadcasts with no social distancing. You're divorcing too readily the PR from the Doctory stuff, for want of a better expression. Of course she's very learned and eminent in her field. Right now though, that high level of expertise is important because it earns her trust in advising the population on how to behave. The trust has at least been very badly damaged. PR is not a side issue as regards public health at a time like this; it's absolutely central. If she can still function here, but without a public role, then that might still be worth having. It was dully predictable that both sides would take the positions they have. She’s a gynaecologist so not really sure how close the link is to that role. All surgeons are highly qualified and capable people, however the area she specialises in is one of the more general ones.
