Jeremiah Cole
Various media reported that more than 40 doctors in Italy have already died „during the corona crisis“. However, a glance at the corresponding list shows that most of the deceased doctors are long retired doctors of all kinds, including 90-year-old psychiatrists and pediatricians, most of whom likely died of natural causes.
Granny Danger
17 minutes ago, MixuFixit said: Certainly. The person who went into the shops handled shopping, cards (cash if they're a w****r) then brought it back to the car. The person who went in opened the boot. The person who was waiting in the car got out and helped put the shopping in the car & pushed the trolley back into the trolley shelter. The person who waited closed the boot. The person who went in looks about for their glasses they need to drive. The person who waited gets them out the glove box & touches hands with the person doing the driving. They forgot to put any hand sanitizer in the car but no matter they'll do it when they get in. They get home and one of them puts all the shopping in their two hands and sticks the keys in their mouth. The other person gets to the front door and realises they don't have the keys, turns and takes them out the other's mouth and opens the door. They both get in and are puffed out so put a wee cuppa on first. Then they put all the shopping away between them & finally one of them says to the other that they need to wash their hands. Pish. Desperate utter pish.
Thistle_do_nicely
On the taking the car out point - as long as your car has a valid mot and you drive safely then simply travelling somewhere in a car in itself isn't really an issue right now I dont think. There are probably going to be more people during lockdown doing something fucktarded at home (im thinking Kirk Broadfoot egg on face type incidents) and injuring themselves than there will be road traffic accidents or breakdowns, not least as theres significantly less road traffic for school/work right now. Roadside assistance if needed should be fine too since you could maintain distancing etc pretty easily I think?

If the answer is no then you shouldn't be doing it. -
welshbairn
Nitpicking over people taking the Government advice to heart and behaving sensibly is dumb, it just encourages the "It's illegal to call yourself English and Covid19 is a hoax" fuckwits.

Edit: tbf i might have missed something at the pace the thread is moving at; was just generally trying to say that if you do take the car out - stressing that its for an essential trip i.e. pharmacy/shopping for household staples - then i really doubt theres much added risk solely from the driving alone in terms of accidents adding strain on the NHS. Taking the car out for a pointless scenic drive or to visit a park or the like is still something we shouldnt be doing, since theres a host of little added problems it causes (you'll need to get more petrol/diesel than you normally would which can result in a trip to a petrol station for a start) Edited March 30, 2020 by Thistle_do_nicely

Jeremiah Cole
A hospital doctor in the Spanish city of Malaga writes on Twitter that people are currently more likely to die from panic and systemic collapse than from the virus. The hospital is being overrun by people with colds, flu and possibly Covid19 and doctors have lost control.
