My first day back at work, boss has been booking jobs in for next week so... Confirmed once theres a shutdown theyll use this 80% grant thing to pay me, so at least I won't be out of a job. Other mechanics not so lucky, another garage paying off a few staff as the manager debates that he will still have pay their wages and then wait for the money to be compensated by the government, which he reckons will take months. As long as it has no effect on them, people generally don't give it genuine thought.
