Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Recommended Posts

I am happy to berate Johnson at the appropriate time; and make no mistake, that time will come.

I just hope tonight we are going to see decisive action that will, as far as is possible, significantly slow down the spread of the virus over the coming weeks and months.

Arnold Clark by any chance? Apparently closing all stores on Wednesday night "right through", whatever that means.
My first day back at work, boss has been booking jobs in for next week so...
Confirmed once theres a shutdown theyll use this 80% grant thing to pay me, so at least I won't be out of a job. Other mechanics not so lucky, another garage paying off a few staff as the manager debates that he will still have pay their wages and then wait for the money to be compensated by the government, which he reckons will take months.
Marshall's.

How many times do grown adults need to be told " don't go out unless it is absolutely essential , this is really serious" before it sinks in. Weeks into this and folk are still trying to find loopholes in the advice we're being given.

" can we still go down the park for a kick about as long as we only play long shooty?"

If you have to ask the answer is probably no.

How many times do posters have to be told no-one is suggesting doing something like organising a game of football?

Do you accept they're going to admit they were wrong already.

Will find out at 8.30. Maybe they’ll give out new advice tomorrow. It changes every day. If I was on here boasting that me and ten of my mates had a lock-in at a Paisley boozer, maybe some of the folk on here giving me grief would have a point. I am perfectly happy with my personal behaviour over recent days. Certainly better than Fat Alex and the gang of photographers, or the Health Minister himself.

I never putted out or touched the flags on many greens anyway. Wasn’t about scores, or holing out, or worrying too much about my golf game. Was a way to get out, smack a ball about a bit, and to be in isolation while doing it. The biggest danger I was to anyone today was when I pulled out into a roundabout a wee bit close to a Fiat 500. Gave them an apologetic wave, never meant it.

Yes, good point. That's all you're looking for at this time of year anyway.

I am almost all for the lockdown, but the idea that I cant go out for a run or on my bike for a number of months is giving me serious cause for concern.

People really are c***s though and that cant really be said enough times.

I have heard of some utter cuntish behaviour even within my own family.

Anyway, they are going to have to deliver absolutely crystal clear guidance on any lockdown scenario on who can do what.

I think we all know friends and or family that have shown themselves to be c***s, we'll just need to suck it up and get through this as best we can.

I'm mentally strong and really like my own company, I already realise that this isn't going to be pleasant.

Until a friend or relative gets it.

As long as it has no effect on them, people generally don't give it genuine thought.  The most common example is when you see people on FB raising money for Cancer Research UK as soon as somebody close to them gets cancer, when they have never given them a penny in the past.

Hopefully he has time to squeeze in a wee announcement that us Self Employeds are getting similar financial help to everyone else, to allow us to stop working.

Looking forward to the effect lockdown has on this thread. If P&B was an in-person thing we would've had deaths already, it's only going to get worse

Who the f**k asked your opinion?
