Fratelli
In 4th year of Uni at the moment and still none the wiser as to how assessments and deadlines will be impacted. The uni have essentially just been saying "we'll give you a shout when we know" for the past 5 days now. Meant to get the definitive email today but nothing as of yet. Tbf to them they're going off government advice which is all over the place at best, but it'd be handy to know where we stand with stuff due in the next few weeks and exams right after.
Florentine_Pogen
When this pandemic finally blows over, it will be interesting to see how the US for-profit healthcare system has performed versus Euro socialised care.
Lofarl
It’s shite that we shouldn’t even sit in the Winchester and wait for this to all blow over.

The way things are going in the shops BBC2 should re-run Ready Steady Cook as Public Information ads to help those who can't get ready meals. Only with the Gourmet Bag of stuff edited out since the panic shoppers have all the good stuff rotting in their cupboards, obv.
welshbairn
Just did my big hoarding raid in Inverness, Lidl, big Merkinch Coop and Tesco Metro. Plenty of everything apart from bog roll and pasta, thankfully pretty quiet.

He's basically said that money shouldn't come in to it, hospitals should be taking care of everyone. Hmmmmm..........I suspect we'll see a bit of 'no insurance, no money......no care' at some point.

Problem in the US is that it will end up in a huge mess of lawsuits. Either someone who has insurance will have treatment delayed because someone without insurance for treated first and will sue, or someone without insurance will be treated, it will go wrong, and they will sue. The whole system there is fucked.

Romeo
Very little to do at work at the moment as my NHS department mainly deals with people with pre-existing conditions and we can see most of them as it puts them at risk. When I get back from annual leave I may be "repurposed" get your guesses in now.

Trump will undoubtedly throw a ton of money at this to help his re-election hopes. Sounds as if Bezos / Amazon are getting involved in the US virus crisis. They have apparently said they are going to hire 100,000 new staff. If this comes to pass, it'll be the death knell for thousands of small independent retailers.
