Not really, majority of hand sanitizer is anti-bacterial, it won't stop you getting a virus.

It's the alcohol that does the work, vodka would do just as well. Soap and water is best though.

One of my co-workers has been coughing her guts up for a couple of weeks. Her doctor told her that she mustn't go to work under any circumstances. Despite this, she came to work yesterday, had a major coughing fit in the staff room and had to be taken to hospital for testing. 5 minutes after she departed the staff room, I entered, totally oblivious, and sat down in the seat which she had just been coughing all over. 30 seconds later, our manager rushed in and told me I had to move so he could urgently disinfect the area. RIP me.

It turns out that it was just a regular viral infection, but still... could have been me. Could have been me.

All this mental buying of bog roll. Makes a change from fcukwits fighting each other in an English Tesco for a shite TV on Black Friday.

Stop it.

Surely you can see how it's slightly more understandable why your average member of the public would be inclined to panic buy hand sanitiser when they have been overwhelmed with information to keep their hands clean as opposed to toilet roll?
