Doesn't that help its cause, rather than hinder it?

I'd have thought that if Aberdeen had beaten Dumbarton 3 or 4-0 in a free-flowing, attacking display, some of the idiots in their support would've gone "well yes of course there was an atmosphere, the football was good. If things are going well on the pitch the atmosphere will follow!".

This is of course demonstrably false. Aberdeen have finished 2nd repeatedly while Pittodrie has been an utter morgue. The way forward is active sections like the 'Red Shed' (needs work), which sing for 90 minutes irrespective of the pish performances on the pitch.

This.

That was just an appalling game of football.

A team who gave the impression of being happy enough to draw 0-0, still managed beat us without looking like they were breaking sweat.

Worrying for the quality of our league if that is 4th v 3rd - we are back to most games offering the unspeakable tedium of the Craigie Broon era.

Said  at the start of the season that any half decent team could finish third this season, there is absolutely zero quality outside of Celtic and Rangers.

That's a very fair point.

Just wonder if they've maybe lost a bit of momentum after a successful launch?
