They played Glasgow on Wednesday and I forgot (a) that I had a ticket, and (b) that it was Wednesday not Thursday vwu5k.png

You missed nothing. You could hardly hear them for the first three songs, and it didn't get much better after that. A real shame.

I was really looking forward to hearing the new Real Estate album which came out today but, the single track aside, it was very forgettable. It's a shame because their previous albums have been great.

I'm very impressed by the Undercover Dream Lovers album. Well worth checking out.

Ah, that's not great to hear (although I feel less annoyed about missing it now).

I like what I've heard of the new Soccer Mommy album; I struggled to get into the last one. See she's playing in Glasgow in June.

If you like Soul in any of its forms then check out Nick of Time by The James Hunter Six. It's brand new on the brilliant Daptone label but sounds like it could be from the 60s or lost classic Northern Soul tracks. Top stuff.

New Tame Impala album gets better after a few listenings. I would say it's better than Currents, but not as good as Lorerism.

I’ve been a massive Tame fan since Innerspeaker. After several listens to The Slow Rush, I really think this is his best work.

It does definitely take you longer to get in to it, given it’s yet another shift in style, of sorts. What does it for me is that there isn’t a song that you’d say is “skip-able”. I find myself skipping a good few on Lonerism and Currents each.

Kevin Parker is a genius, end of.

I'd imagine album releases are being pulled left right and centre at the moment.  Doubt anyone's going to be buying new records at a time like this.

Possibly the opposite. Most folk aren't buying physical copies anymore so the amount of streams/downloads while everyone is stuck at home might rise

Listening to The Chats' new album at present. Fun bogan punk, would love to see these guys if they came to Scotland after we're allowed to have gigs again.

October at the Priory in Glasgow. Canny remember exact date.

It's likely to be months before I can buy the new Pearl Jam album from a shop, but the instant they're open again I'll be first in the door.

I also think you're miles off, and that Asim is right.

How the f**k can streaming be down?

Pearl Jam is pretty good. Couple of duds but I really like it. Nine Inch Nails is... I dunno. Dunno that I like the songs having titles given the last Ghosts album but that's a minor gripe. It's amazing.

I guess people are just changing their patterns of behaviour, and that can work in unpredictable ways. Maybe people listen while they're travelling to work; or maybe people have less opportunity to be alone in the house, or whatever.  I can't say I've been listening to much music in the past couple of weeks, and that's not deliberate but - even though neither of the reasons I just suggested apply to me - it seems to have worked out that way.

(And not that I had much data to go on, incidentally - was just thinking of this article that I'd seen earlier in the week: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/streaming-music-down-coronavirus-971059 )
