Thistle Vs Dundee United

The last time Dundee United lasted longer in a major cup competition than Partick Thistle was the League Cup in 16/17.

Funnily enough we are a poor cup team. A poor cup team who you haven’t bettered in the last 7 (seven) cups. I believe you east coast types would call this a ‘minter’?

Oh dear.

Championing the fact that you finished marginally better in the cups than the worst united side in living memory over the last couple of years is so thistle it hurts.
A club which has a wall sized picture of the time that they scored against Celtic in a 1-1 draw about 8 years ago behind one of its stands, the very definition of tinpot.

With the Butcher unsurprisingly suspended this match is lacking a bit of an edge.

We've actually played okay in our two meetings this season.

We're unlikely to have any fresh faces on Saturday so just get the sleeves rolled up and get a much needed home win.

How we manage that is the question. Maybe it's Myth Austin time? 🤔

You think Cal Butcher is bad wait till your team gets destroyed by THE POWER.

We need to start dropping points here lads if we are gonna win the league again at Dens in April. Play the fringe players with a couple of youths and keep the first team for the Hibs match the following week

Even when you win the league it’s still all about Dundee[emoji1]

You seem awful upset considering your team are running away with this tinpot league.

This is very true. Always found the clamour over that goal by some of our fans very embarrassing.

Being stuck in this division for however many years it’s been seems to have taken its toll.

Not at all, in fact I quite like thistle, but so many things about you are hilariously small time.
The chant and picture I referred to being one, as well as the foul smelling tank of slurry you encounter when you walk into your 3 sided ground and not forgetting the scoreboard which you appear to have nicked from the most deprived school in Glasgow.

Given all of the above, it tickled me that someone was trying to use our respective cup exploits as a means of posturing.

Were you the cyclist that Ade Azeez bumped into?

Any Azeez goal should be burned into history for us all to remember. I think he only scored 2.

Eta: I’m pretty sure the cross for that goal was delivered by Christie Elliot, possibly the first time he ever found a thistle player in the box. The reasons to celebrate for eternity are endless.
