AUCHINLECK TALBOT V BEITH JUNIORS

Average age of the Beith team earlier this season was 27/29, few players have left so will have changed a bit but not by too much I wouldn't think.

Prior to Saturday, Beith had the 4th best goals against record in the league not helped by 2-5 defeat at home to Pollok in what was actually a close game until chasing it and gambling and the same in a 4-1 defeat away to Glens. Main problem this season has been scoring to be honest but if you don't score then your defence is under more pressure....

Great point Larky. They don’t really make them like big John any more and he will not only be greatly missed by Beith when he hangs up the boots but by Junior football.
I doubt there would be many centre back’s rated more highly by opposition strikers over the last 10 years than John. Would be an interesting poll
