Clyde Vs Stranraer

He was onside. A Stranraer player on the left hand side was much deeper than everyone else and played on, but even Goodwillie didn't realise that and so fucked up the best chance of the match.

Fair play. You youngsters have both better sight and reactions to things like that.

By the way, very impressed with the Stranraer away supports yesterday! Considering the small home support and the long journey plus it being a shite season so far, it definitely was impressive, well done guys 👏👏👏

Aye was over 90. Probably about 15 of which were families of players mind you. No supporters bus. Only cars. Majority were central belt supporters. Used to be regular thing us having 50-100 at away games sadly now the supporters bus hardly goes now due to costs and lack of support in the town.

We had a 900 allocation for Ibrox. Weve sent tickets back. Weve sold 450. Being a friday night has killed it for us. The club deck is shut for maintenance so it's a 41000 sell out.

Really frustrated not to have finished the match with 3 points. That just shows how well the team played second half as in the first 45 we were horrendous.

Stranraer away support. Did it not look more as they all seemed to sit in the top half rather than being scattered between the top & bottom sections?

Aye in that vlog a few posts up the bottom section looks pretty much empty. Still looked a decent following from them compared to usual though.

Has Stevenson been signed as a striker, Stranraer fans? Was a bit puzzled to see him play up top as he's always struck me as a player who's better with the game in front of him.

I thought Stranraer's physicality was a problem for us. Jones and Stevenson held play well at times and if Stranraer had players capable of playing between the lines and running beyond the forwards they might have dished out a doing the likes of which we gave them last time round. They had to make do with the odd knock-on and dead ball to score their goals in the end. Their wide players and full-backs bombed forward enough to see to all of that. They also gave Goodwillie the same treatment that Dumbarton's defenders did for the entire first half, keeping him very quiet.

We made good decisions at half time which addressed the vulnerability of Johnston and Lamont being responsible for entire right hand side, and we made the park as big as possible with the introduction of Smith and latterly Wylde. This all added up to more opportunity for players like Goodwillie to get a run in behind. We obviously also showed great spirit in pulling it back. That said, you can't really think about damage limitation at home to Stranraer so there wouldn't have been a calculation for us to make in terms of our basic attitude to the second half.

I think we need at least two new defenders and a lot luck in terms of Goodwillie's fitness if we're to avoid the relegation play-off. One of those defenders must be a reasonably experienced centre back and the other a left back. Maybe Wylde will play as a left back. In an ideal world, we would bring in a big forward along with those defenders and have Rankin back in the side. Lennon talks a lot about the cost of poor game management and that's something you probably need to deploy and trust a senior player with. The changeable cast of players that we've had in the middle of the defence and midfield obviously hasn't done anything to stop us giving away cheap goals.

On Petkov. While he's done well in the last two matches, I'd be cautious about offering him a deal if Hearts let him go. If he's only doing well when the chips are down and he's concerned about getting a contract or loan extension, that's a red flag. It might also be the case that a lot of what he's done well is a result of his higher fitness levels. I think I'm right in saying he trains full time with Hearts. The unusual mobility you're seeing for a big lad, winning those leg races and going on the odd run up the park, that might diminish if he becomes a part time player. We'll call it the Gavin Brown effect for short. You worry if we have the time to take a punt on inexperienced players at this point. Maybe signing Wylde is an indication that Danny might be thinking the same.

Always good to see, being brought up proper emoji106.png better than being made to go watch the old firm and listen to sectarian singing for 90 minutes

We had a group of 30odd approximately the last two years that did plenty of singing. Sadly that has dwindled due to old farts chasing them away. The cooshed has always been traditionally where any noise was created right next to the away fans. Some old farts took it over and said there not going to continue putting money in if they are allowed to continue singing and playing their drum. Now they dont come. It's a joke. Crowds are low enough. These were boys from 5 upto 14 maybe. Just kids. Chased and wont come back. Now rangers and Celtic fans with rest of the town.

Unfortunately that’s a trend all too common in the lower leagues. They see young fans turning up at their local club, making noise, drums, see the word “Ultra” on a bedsheet and everyone thinks they’ll tear the place apart. Mind you, old c***s and stereotypes aren’t new in this country.

We got what we deserved and it wasnt a win. However cant believe the ref gave a pen for robbos challenge on goodwillie. At the game I thought he fell over or already was on way down but jeez. Certainly bought that.

That's what's wrong with Scottish football. Should be encouraging young kids to support their local team and make noise. Yes sometimes its cringy as f**k but they are kids and potential life long fans but like you said they get chased and end up 'supporting' the old firm or English premier league teams
