Didn't I hear somewhere they'd got Jermain Defoe to sign a permanent contract?

Edit - actually, bearing in mind Gerard's comments that he didn't recognise the team after the Hearts defeat, maybe that number should be significantly higher?

Apparently they've just signed Hagi's son, Iainis, on loan.  Looks a good attacking option.  Wonder if the Buffalo is off after all.

I'm not convinced McGinn is even good enough for the Premiership - it's a wild signing by Hibs.

Punting Kamberi to Sevco would be even dumber wilder.  Not happy we are talking to Sevco about any player given the shite that impostor club has aimed at us this past 8 years.

Seems to be a few deals done but not announced yet...

  • Paul McGinn - St Mirren to Hibernian
  • James Wilson - Aberdeen to Salford
  • Jordan Jones - Rangers to Middlesbrough
  • Matt Butcher - Bournemouth to St Johnstone
  • Zak Vyner - Aberdeen loan end, return to Bristol City
  • Ianis Hagi - Genk to Rangers

All being reported as done by journalists, so hopefully things will get confirmed soon and won't all be all at once.

He's injury cover, really. It does make a kind of sense.

Jason Naismith has been knocked out through injury for six months. The remaining people who can play the right back position are David Gray (who is notoriously fragile), Tom James (who is shite), Steven Whittaker (who is okay playing anywhere *but* the wing) and Tommy Block (who's just a kid from the dev team who only switched positions a month ago and probably belongs on loan in the lower leagues).

Add Alex Jakubiak - Watford to St. Mirren

The Romanian shagger has been confirmed now:

Paul was Player of the Year last season for his Mr Consistency and Mr Versatility tags. Never had a bad game and played all along the back four and wing back. Often deputised for captain. Kept that up this season. I would much prefer McGinn over Hodson - not that Hodson is a bad player - but Paul attacks more and pops up with an occasional goal. A backward step for me. Hope we get him back in the summer.

There might not be much point posting every St Mirren move today separately... but Ethan Erhahon has gone to Championship strugglers Barnsley on loan in one of the weirder transfers of the window so far.
Hes gone to play in their under 23s which is even weirder

Barnsely operate the find them young and cheap develop them and sell them on. (John Stones?) So might be a loan to assess then a move to buy in the summer
