St Johnstone vs Ross County 29/12/2019

Recommended Posts

No point talking about the game, Madden successfully made it all about him. Absolutely zero idea how County ended that with only one red card.

You had Vigurs lunge in late, get booked. Holt lunge in late, get booked. Spittal and Paton lunge in late, booked.

The example is fucking there. So what happens when the already booked Vigurs, again, and just minutes after Holts booking, lunges in late?

Nothing.

You then get Brian Graham, in full view of the linesman who should surely be staring right at it, push Davidson and then swing a punch at him.

Nothing.

You then have Vigurs dive right in front of Madden, who sees it enough to laugh and wave his finger.

Nothing.

Already booked Paton drags back McCann off the ball, ref waves play on.

Nothing.

Already booked Spittal lunges in late, ref waves play on.

Nothing.

Balls drops to Davidson in the box, defenders rugby tackles his legs away from behind.

Free kick County.

It took Brian Graham twice elbowing a Saints player to finally get him sent off, as apparently those are just yellow cards now.

Genuinely never seen a display like it. An utterly incompetent fucking clown. Itll get zero attention though, and he'll continue on his merry way.

What was the deal with the indirect free kick? Was it taken miles away from the point where it should have been or something? Otherwise why not let us take it if County are so switched off they didn’t realise what was happening?

Bobby Madden is the reason.

The same ref who stopped play because Ross Stewart was hobbling, then let it continue when Jason Kerr was down with a head injury (play only stopped when the keeper kicked it out).

Because Bobby Madden hadn’t blown his whistle and as we know it’s all about him.....

That surely can’t be it. You can take a quick free kick if you choose to as long as it’s from the right place and the ball isn’t moving. County completely switched off and I don’t see why we shouldn’t have been allowed to take advantage?

Nope, he pointed at his whistle to indicate he hadn’t blown, which I agree is nonsense, but he was making it up as he went along today.

Can’t believe we dropped points in that game. Only team in it really, county break up the park and score their only decent chance.

you’ll be hard pushed to find a more cynical team than that Ross County one. Stinking tackles, drag backs off the ball, flying elbows, time wasting. 6 bookings, a red card and I actually think the referee let a lot more go than he probably should’ve done.

Trying to find logic in a Bobby Madden decision 😂

Played a lot more football than we've seen in a while. Created very little in the first half but a lot more after the break, even if we didn't work their keeper nearly enough.

The number of times Saints wouldpkay a 1-2 for there to be no recipient because a County player had cynically taken out the Saints player was incredible. Numerous other fouls off the ball were also getting committed.

Thought Kane led the line well, showed a good first touch and brought midfielders into the game well. Was unlucky to be subbed. Wright looked very lively and had some great touches but still needs more end product. Kennedy a mixed bag, great assist for our goal and a cracking strike from 35 yards off the bar,  but headed over from 2 yards out and fluffed a great chance from Booth's cut back.  He was a çonstant threat to County, but still feel his decision making could be a bit better at times.

Our midfield dominated, and we look good with the three in there, but it's hard to know where the goals will come from.

A decent performance from us that deserved more, but a bad day overall when you see Livi, Accies and St Mirren have all gained points on us, and the only team we gained on was freefalling kilmarnock.

Felt like the type of game we were losing earlier this season.

At least we got a reminder of the weaknesses going into the January window.

Personally, I'd be disappointed if we finish below County, Hamilton or Hearts this season, feel like we consistently outplay all three every time we've faced them this season.
