County vs Well boxing day

Do all your youth players not get released after the under 20s?

We're certainly not great at keeping them on. We won the development league in 2016/17 season, with a development managment team that included our Co-Managers, in spite of this, that entire squad is now gone and today's squad (let alone starting 11) didn't have a single county developed player. Something not quite right.

Very pleased for young Ross, hope he goes on to greater things, just sorry its not with us.

Gallagher looks like he is going into the fans but remembers he was on a booking at the last second.

The scenes at the end are a work of art - players going tonto, folk over the wall, Hartley and Morris going at it - scottish football at its very best.

Always hurts when a former player comes back to score against you but sometimes they leave for the right reasons. Wish Ross all the best in his career but let’s face it, was he going to be a first choice ahead of Ross Stewart? No. Brain Graham? No. Billy McKay? After last season no. Lee Erwin? Yet to see. We have 4 strikers to choose from and let’s face it he hardly set the heather alight at Elgin city on loan so probably was the right decision. As for others, DKD apparently had a poor attitude (not for me to say for sure) but he’s still clueless after half a year so who knows. Grivo is still here and has potential to go far but isn’t getting the chance, get Fontaine out the starting 11 I’d say and play Grivo.

Tough way to lose but didn’t expect much against a high flying Motherwell. European tour now surely?

Always a sickener to lose to late goal. Spence getting sent off only made it more likely that Motherwell would eventually break us down, and they did. MacIver's goal was in from the second it left his boot, Baxter was getting nowhere near it.

There were numerous times in the game Motherwell were either sloppy or light at the back and only bad decision making let us down (Brian Graham guilty of two of them). A decent, resolute show against a top six side, but just sucks to have come away with nothing.

Although he was awarded the MotM, don’t think Nathan covered himself in glory for either goal. To me, a floated corner like that, the keeper should be commanding his box and he should’ve been out at it. We desperately need a new centre half as Calum was honking yesterday but love the way he blames everyone else around him when he fuks up!

I'll begin with the obvious: Gutting end result. Having said that, we scored late winners ourselves in our last 2 home games, so we've had our share of fun in recent weeks.

Apart from that, I found it a thoroughly enjoyable day out. My personal highlights included:

1. Being in a position to bless a stranger with a free spare ticket.

2. Kettlewell's triple-take when the fourth official played a glorious touch to get in ahead of Robinson controlling a stray ball, followed by offers from Ketts of a place in the County team. I wish footage of that exchange was available.

3. The drunk Motherwell "selfy filming" himself being escorted off the pitch by security after the final whistle. I hope footage of that is available and will make it into this thread?

Honourable mentions to:

Ross McIver. What a goal.

Robinson seemed a decent chap, up for a bit of banter with the County support and a decent sense of humour.

The game was pretty entertaining, and as has been pointed out I thought County were right in it to the very end, but for some poor decision making and panic when they got into good positions.

Wow. Bit embarassing from the steward to be honest. Let's hope that guy isn't high profile in France or he could spread us a bad reputation!

As an aside, the steward sounds a bit drunk himself halfway through that! (Obviously not saying he was).

Meh, I don't get the outrage about the steward throwing the French boy out.  He shouldn't have been on the pitch.

Yeah, steward was only doing his job and getting someone off the pitch that shouldn't have been there. Don't see the issue.

Certainly no call for outrage, and fair enough to remove the guy... But I think the steward was unnecessarily aggressive, and really don't see on what basis he calls the guy a disgrace? In his (the steward's) defence he had just been dealing with a pretty hectic finale and a lot of understandably rowdy pitch invaders - adrenaline was probably still in full flow. It just strikes me that, while perhaps technically in the wrong, our French guest seemed sober and reasonable, and in my opinion was dealt with disproportionately harshly. I definitely think out of the two of them the steward comes out looking worse.

Just my opinion though, and certainly no accompanying outrage.

Sounds about right to me. You County fans seem a well balanced and sensible lot on here, I applaud you.
