Question for Kennie

BANKIEBILL

If you attend Townhead on a Saturday you will see most if not all home games are sponsored, and that's down to the great job the commercial team are doing, it just happens to be the case that the Talbot game is the most attractive for sponsors
Yep, i see the hospitality area is well attended on the occasions i am ther, and am sure thats the case most home games.
Am sure the midweek game v Talbot will attract similar numbers as some of the lesser saturday games, maybe not as many as we would like if it was a saturday game.

The way it has been stated previously, is that this game bein played midweek would b a massive dent to coffers for Cumnock, which is the issue I have, we shouldnt be reliant on 1 game.

I actually agree with everything you are saying these games should always be on a Saturday but the problem lies with the club that enters the big Scottish and just so happens to be talbot most seasons if it was say beith I dont think you would be on here complaining. But kennie has a job to get these fixtures played and because only a few teams have lights then this is the only date this can be played. In a few years more teams will have lights talbot included and the fixture backlog with be easier to fulfil.

A can assure you all townhead is booked out, kello rovers have a block booking from Sept till April every Monday and weds night for training, so townhead won't be available on a weds night in Feb

Come on now. So Kello will stand in the way of a Cumnock v Talbot match? Not buying that one.

Not saying we'll stand in the way , am saying it's booked and isn't available, as previously stated by others, so Cumnock juniors don't have the control to say who gets it, Cumnock sports hub do, and between the times that Cumnock v Talbot would require it, won't just affect kello but also the other 3 teams who hire it between 7-8 8-9 and 9-10 as its split into half pitch bookings so potentially you could have 6 clubs using it over the period that one game would need it,,

Yes, it's clear that there are bookings on the pitch throughout the year. However, Townhead Park is the home of Cumnock Juniors so a scheduled match has to take priority, particularly where in this case the booking is for a fellow Junior club.

The whole thing is a non story with details being brandished to back up some Cumnock fans' complaints.

with my boys team having a block booking at townhead on a wednesday night ,we are informed well in advance by the sports hub that there is a game on between the cumnock & whoever so dont panic the pitch will be available. as for the crowd and lost revenue thats the way the cookie crumbles,im sure t@lbot will still bring a decent crowd with them. we have the facilities for midweek games and now lets use them.

It's not to back up Cumnock fans, it's a fact, infact add rather wind them up than back them up, but Cumnock don't have control, we played them in the section Cup, kick off 6:45pm, changed till 8pm as Cumnock couldn't get onto the pitch as it was booked, game was a farce warming up beside the pitch till exactly 8pm, till about 60 weans came off, straight onto it straight into the game, the game got replayed as the lights went out before it was finished, they can't just cancel all block bookings and say look thanks for keeping the facility going but we're booting use off it this week oh and in 2 weeks time and then again the following week, or know one would use it, as a say kello will most likely make way, but only if asked, but the other 3 Teams may not be so keen to step aside, the block bookings are the bread n butter of the sports hub, the money from them keep the facility afloat, it was mentioned a few years back that Cumnock were effectively homeless and only leasing a pitch the same as whittlets, rossvale petershill, they don't own a thing,

If they've got the same kind of terms and conditions of booking pitches that they have through our way, I'm sure it will say any bookings are subject to change and cancellation at the discretion of the Management Committee /Council/Leisure Trust or whatever body manages the facility

Whit a state for a proud club like Cumnock to get into. There was nothing wrong with the ground ,great grass pitch.  Why the bloody hell did they want to be part of a sports hub and not be in control of what happens at their own ground ? Been better staying at Lugar lol

Must be two seasons ago I booked Parklea Stadium for an amateur league cup semi final. Port Glasgow Juniors we’re away on that day. The league paid its money for the park but were never told that our fixture could be postponed or changed to another venue if Port Glasgow decided they needed the pitch at short notice.
Low and behold their game for the Saturday had no chance of going ahead so they switched the fixture to Parklea Stadium which was fair enough. Invercyde Council told us their fixtures took preference but it would have been nice if they had been pointed out from the start.
