(Same old) Alloa v The Caley

Recommended Posts

Until the first goal though Alloa created the better chances. Thought it was a penalty when the shoot hit central defender arm around the 15 minutes into the game. The red card looked very harsh the game was already lost at that point. Alloa final ball and decision making going forward was poor in the second half
Stonewall pen seen it back but it was a red card all day watched it twice . strange game . goals change games we need to take our chances simple

Just about defrosted...

Much better performance from us compared to recent horror shows against Arbroath and sub par showings in the Clyde and Dundee games. Alloa played some good stuff in the first half as well and were unlucky to find themselves two down at the break. Slice of good fortunate for the opener. The ball was lofted towards the Alloa goal and MacDonald burst forward coming to claim it but one of the Alloa defenders clearly thought he was still on his line and headed it over him and it trundled into the net.

Second strike was a lovely goal. Rooney crossed for White and he knocked it back down to Doran who lashed the ball into the net from 10 yards out. Great finish right on half time to put us firmly in the driving seat. Keatings and Doran had other good opportunities in the first half to put us further ahead before the second goal game but Alloa also had some good chances as well. Couldn't see who it was (maybe Flannigan?) but Ridgers had to look sharp to hit a well struck effort over the bar.

Second half saw Dick sent off when he lunged wildly into a challenge on Keatings. A deserved red card followed and with that the game petered out. Prior to this we had looked likely to add to our lead but once Alloa were down to 10 men the game fizzled out. White had perhaps the best chance when he headed over from a Doran corner.

Good performances from the likes of Doran, Carson and Tremarco today. Alloa, as I say, were perhaps a bit unlucky. They played some really good football at times and created some reasonable (half) chances. Good to see us being the clinical side for a change.

Thought we played pretty well and maybe just about shaded it up to the opener. That was an absolute gift though and the second so soon after, which was a great hit from Doran, was a bit of a body blow. Feared we might get a doing following the red card but the players did really well after that and actually had a couple of decent chances.

Apart from the catastrophic opening goal it was a decent Alloa performance and an entertaining game of football.

Its 100% a pen all day his both hands on the back of the Alloa player . simple

you really do not have a grasp of the meaning of the word do you ? .

Alloa thickos raging all over the place after their team has been absolutely splattered by The Caley and are facing an inevitable relegation back to where they belong.

2nd in the league and 2 games in a row won after I didn’t start the thread. Roll on next week.
