We were stinking against Hamilton using this system so it makes total sense to do it again. Whittaker patrolling the midfield again as well ffs.

United will have a great chance to put us out here.

I'm not convinced that that midfield three works. Any two from the three would be fine but not all three together. Harkes won't play far enough forward to link with the front three and Powers and Butcher will be stepping on each other's toes again in front of the back four.

Watson has every reason to be extremely pissed off at being left out. If I was a cynic I might think the ‘rotation’ of the centre backs over the last few games was nothing more than an excuse to get Connolly back in.

And talk about packing the midfield. Harkes, Butcher and Powers as a three, with Pawlett who isn’t really a wide player.

Yeah, disappointed to see Watson benched again, unless he’s carrying a knock.
