A thoroughly stupid decision by Low to drop them in the first place, especially Muller. I agree it seems a bit weird to have dropped them, but I wonder if it might end up doing them good in terms of two players in their thirties having had a couple of years free from the travel and extra games international football brings. Germany qualified at a stroll anyway. There are probably quite a few top-end players at the big countries who would be cool with being given the qualifiers off. Bound to be good for the legs. Could all be a cunning ploy. Edited May 22, 2021 by TheJTS98
welshbairn
Strange that England got off with a lesser penalty than Hungary with that wreckage of a final, both inside and outside Wembley. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/oct/18/england-hit-with-stadium-fan-ban-for-wembley-disorder-uefa
Sherrif John Bunnell
Even staff at the FA were happy that England lost. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59516147
welshbairn
One obvious lesson is don't hold major football events in the UK at 8pm on the Weekend.
HibeeJibee
Redevelopment can't have helped when it came to monitoring mobs of ticketless gatecrashers. Wembley was previously surrounded by open space - now penned in by a maze of high building and streets. Here's a gif to illustrate that point, think the old imagery is from about 10 years ago.
trainspotter
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59518850 The timeline really is quite a read. Hard to believe, if this is anywhere near accurate, that the FA were putting out “all under control, nothing to see here” tweets less than an hour before kick off
