St Johnstone vs Aberdeen

Explain yourself because it really isn’t clear by what you’ve said. Or is what you’ve said completely inexplicable?

"fans claiming Aberdeen are shite are morons".

We are shite and a lot of it stems from McInnes. 1-0 up, start the second half well and he clearly decides to hold out for the 1-0. We sit in, play shite side-to-side football and end up conceding.

Good teams would put games like this away.  Fifteen mins against a team bottom of the table with nine men should be enough time to get a winner but we barely upped the tempo until time was really running out.

One game v St Mirren and two v St Johnstone, two points to show for it. The Old Firm must be shitting themselves.

Thought the "Famous" Aberdeen would be able to beat 9 men, but they were absolutely brutal, Hedges is utter shit, against the league worst fullback he produced f**k all. Kennedy had the beating of Logan all game but still managed to create nothing but Wright and Davidson produced zip either. Hendry linked play well, did better in short time he was on the field than May did all game. Thought the ref got the red cards and not sending the Aberdeen player off correct.

you are an absolute loony who has no clue about football [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Cosgrove fouls, no free kick. Balls goes loose.
Red card saints.
Minute later Aberdeen player with identical challenge. Yellow.
Kennedy fouled, no free kick.
Hendry foul. Red card.
Aberdeen player punches Hendry. No card.
It's an absolute farce.

We haven't played St.Mirren twice. At least wait for the bad results to happen before complaining about them man.

Very content that no matter how bad we allegedly are, we still finish above all the diddy teams over and over and over. The famous , red wearing, McInnes managed juggernaut marches on to yet another glorious European adventure next season whilst the rest of you clamour to get in the top 6 alongside us. Now your back as an established top flight team you might have a chance of breaking your way in this year, dream big

That’s a long-winded way to say “yes, you’re right, HibsFan, I am raging”.

Fine margins.

Really surprised how Aberdeen let us back into the game with a fairly passive approach. Surely we were there for the taking?

Shame about the red cards, we were in the ascendency when we scored and it would have been good to see if we could have kicked on and got a winner.

If Aberdeen had pinched the winner, it would have been a story of no points, an ill-disciplined performance from a doomed team etc. Instead it's a heroic backs to the wall point won by the 9 men, which surely gives the squad a boost.  We'll see.

The Dons are very much a typical Mcinnes team in style.  Capable, competent, strong etc, but maybe lacking that wee bit guile and craft to break us down.

Hear me out here.
If Clancy decided to play advantage after the handball, would that have been the wrong decision? McGinn has an absolute sitter which he’s missed. Obviously Clancy never did that, and even in that situation Duffy would need to have been sent off, but think letting play go and sending Duffy off would have been palatable for my sheep brethren?

It’s going to go under the radar because of the handball... but seriously. He was six yards out with a completely open goal and nobody anywhere near him. It was a better chance than a penalty in theory! No idea how he managed to do what he did-he could have walked it into the net.

Given that, and the way the game panned out, I don’t have much truck with complaints that that decision cost Aberdeen the match.

for RG’s benefit-Logan’s tackle wasn’t a foul. He was walking a tightrope for sure, and given what had just happened flying in like that while on a yellow was mental, but he won the ball for me.

St Johnstone v Aberdeen will forever be a Semi-Final to me...
Spoiler

There were two semi-final meetings that season - only Saints fans could prefer the one played in the sparsely populated stadium on a Sunday lunchtime.
