The order of the fixtures

Recommended Posts

Years ago once you played the first quarter, you’d play the teams in the same order in the second, except at the opposite ground.

These days it seems more random.

Morton have Arbroath this Saturday, despite only playing them a month ago.

Any ideas why this happens now?

A couple seasons back we played Brechin on the first and last day of the season, which didn’t make much sense.

This season, we started with an away game, and we finish with an away game. First time in my life that it’s not been a home/away or away/home combo

Dundee have got the weird set up that our last 10 games of the season are all home, away, home, away. We have two consecutive home games 29th Feb and 3rd March, then it's one after the other all the way to the end of the season. We also play away on the first and last day of the (regular) league season.

It's often said that if you give an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, you'll eventually get a line of Shakespeare typed out. SPFL fixtures - three monkeys, ten minutes...
