HibeeJibee
Another related technical myth: Hibs were the first British team to play in Europe Only if you adjust "team" to "club" and go by date of first tie not just season. Both the European Cup and Fairs Cup began for 1955-56. Hibs and Birmingham City entered former and latter respectively, but Hibs played their first tie before Birmingham. However there was also a London entry into Fairs Cup: but a London Select XI of all London clubs. They played their first tie before Hibs... so early indeed it was actually at end of 1954-55.

We obviously have a much better squad.
Kuro
Aberdeen are the third biggest club in Scotland, there is no measure upon which this is true. Heart and hibs recently got average attendances creeping as high as 18500, have a look at aberdeens, they haven't been close to that for a quarter of a century at least.

Italy got a perfectly good goal chopped of for offside which would have made it 2-0, then barry fergusons equaliser was actually offside. all in all looking it was a classic Scottish gallant losers performance In terms of being 'robbed', the Czech Republic game at Hampden where they were awarded a penalty for an absolutely obscene dive was far worse than anything that occured in the Italy game.

Group stages then knockout is a classic formula which has stood the test of time. Qualifying rounds then group stages then the final sounds like an utter dogs dinner. You're right with the format, I am taking all of factors into consideration. Mainly the 4 teams from 4/5 countries getting straight in. lotta shite. Merkie84
Aberdeen v Rangers became a heated fixture because of the Simpson Durrant incident. Football fans who are violent/ racist / causing bother “aren’t real fans”. Never understood that one TBH. They are in the stadium , wearing their teams colours, spending their hard earned on tickets and are so invested in what is going on they are willing to behave in a socially unacceptable and illegal manner. Unpleasant, definitely, but “not real fans?”

tarapoa
Aberdeen couldn’t afford a toaster.Truth behind this was they moved it as it was tripping a smoke alarm causing the fire brigade to be called out at several hundred quid a time.Didn’t stop the weegia headlines though.

Home attendances are the real measure. And season ticket sales. There's no way anybody can realistically claim Aberdeen are a bigger club than hearts or hibs when three thousand more people pay to.watch those clubs every single week than Aberdeen.
Kuro
Aberdeen average attendance 16984, season ticket 11000 Hearts average attendance 17564, season ticket 11500 Hibs average attendance 17741, season ticket 13500 these are fantastic figures btw, really healthy for all three clubs and great for Scottish football. It's closer than I thought, but Aberdeen have seen significant increases the from 2013 onwards. Tbf they got 17897 in 2014-15 which is outstanding, but hearts and his were 18421 and 18123 a couple of years ago. Btw, if you remember peter lawell like the scumbag he is came out and said it's right the old.firm Hoover up all.the money from the Scottish game because without them.the spl would be like the league of Ireland. Well chew on this, hearts, hibs and Aberdeen all.get higher attendances on their own than the entire league of.Ireland combined.
