Dunning1874
To be honest, even when we were a side in contention for the promotion playoffs as opposed to the relegation battling rabble we’ve now descended to, we could never depend on points against the part-time sides. Duffy loved to talk up how we took every game equally seriously in the build up to games with Dumbarton, only to rest several players or try out an experimental formation then be surprised when we lost, and we even had the embarrassment of dropping points to Brechin. More recently Alloa beat us three times last season with Goodwin tactically outclassing Johansson every time they met. With only one win in seven and three consecutive defeats this is a must-win game as we urgently need to stop the rot, but that’s the consequence of how bad we’ve been lately rather than Arbroath being a side you look at as an obvious source of points. The wins need to start coming from somewhere and if you don’t beat mid-table sides at home you obviously aren’t going to get enough points to stay up, but there’s no reason to view them as any easier a game than Dunfermline or QoS - they’re all sides we need to be beating to get out of this mess and we’ve already Ramsbottomed our way out of wins over the other two at Cappielow.

Park in the road down to the Marina (on the right at the lights just before Cappielow). Free on street parking as long as you get there early enough. Mind you there probably won't be much of a crowd so should be fine. Quick getaway unlike the official car park in Sinclair Street.
stan3600
Excited but a bit worried at missing Miko. Murphy is good but who is the defensive midfielder we need. Whatley?

The Ghost of B A R P
I'd be tempted to go 3-5-2 for this, with Strapp on one side as more or less a wing-back and Salkeld on the other as a right-mid, Lyon in behind Nesbitt off McShug. Might turn out an unbalanced shambles, but our supposedly straightforward 4-4-2s and 4-5-1s have descended into that anyway, so very little to lose. Back three probably picks itself, deep middle two is any two from Jacobs/Millar/McAlister (don't really care)... and Rogers in goal. Alternative is a balls-out 3-4-3, as above, but with Nesbitt off both McShug and Sutton... go long and play from there. And Rogers in goal.

Aye, along with McLean and what looks like Welsh as a right wing-back... So a back 5 (as opposed to a back 3)... at home to Arbroath. Edited to add: and Nesbitt still sitting on the bench... Colkitto
Strange set up that surprisingly seemed to work. Got an early goal and haven't d9ne much since. Arbroath have huffed and puffed without being any great threat. Would like Nesbitt on to stretch them a bit

Dunning1874
It’s still a long way from what anyone could describe as good, but it was better. We were at least organised, for all that we were too deep too soon in the second half. The goal came from nothing and we created little else, but we just about deserved to win with Arbroath never looking like scoring themselves. Must win and we got there, and I’d stick with the 3-5-2. Congratulations to the referee and linesman for contriving to miss the most stonewall penalty of all time.
