He's one of the fucking welts that are having a go at the Greens running against the SNP. So he can pretty much get fucked.

If he loses the seat more chance we will all get fucked.

What's the point of the Greens running in SNP/Tory marginals like Perth?

He has no right to tell anyone not to run. It's an ego trip.

He can say what he wants and people can disagree, that’s democracy.

However if he loses the seat more chance we will all get fucked.

He's got a 21 vote majority out of 52525 in 2017. Do you think the Greens are likely to take votes from the Tories? And he's not telling them anything, he's asking.

It does come off as a bit arrogant and entitled to have a pop at other parties just for standing, but I don't think it's a great look for the Greens when the Tories are in such close contention and the only possible winners other than the SNP. If Labour or even the Lib Dems were in the Tories' position, I'd be less bothered about it.

Also if you start just deciding party X won't win this time because look what happened last time, elections start to become a bit pointless.

Only because of FPTP.  If we had a fairer system for elections to Westminster then it wouldn’t be an issue.

The Green Party in England and Wales are actively negotiating with the Lib Dems and Plaid Cymru on maximising the remain/anti Tory vote. Perth looks like an extreme example of where it could be worthwhile.

I don’t believe the Greens stood in that election either, which makes his chances this time around even tighter.

The Greens can stand candidates where they like, that is democracy.

If Wishart fails to get re-elected, then he's not convinced enough people to vote for him. That's not The Green Party's fault.

Equally, those that vote Green in that constituency will do so knowing that there's a chance that the Tories will win the seat.

The biggest issue in all this, is of course that an absolute fucking moron like Murdo Fraser shouldn't be anywhere near parliament.

Yet they did stand in 2015, when he won with a majority of over 9000 despite the Greens getting over 1000.

It was so tight in 2017 because a lacklustre campaign and voter apathy saw him drop 5500 votes. It’s up to the SNP to fight a better campaign to ensure his vote comes out, not whine about other parties having the temerity to stand.

Has he actually said this?

I'm not a member of any party and usually vote Green on the list but what's the point of the Greens standing an SNP/ Tory marginal? Will Green politics really be advanced by the election of some Tory freak?
