EU membership has waxed and waned in terms of UK support but it has always been a major news story and often the public have favoured leaving.

Worth pointing out that the end of that graph is circa 2014 when Cameron was promising his "renegotiation".
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-35622105
If anything the false expectations raised by him to make his life easier with his backbenchers helped stoke the disappointment that fuelled more EU skepticism.
And most people think those who disagree with them politically are to one degree or another "morons brainwashed by the media".

None of that implies that the average punter took, or had ever taken, or will ever take, any interest in the EU beyond their masters' preferred view of blaming all life's shite on "unelected Brussels bureaucrats". The last three years has done little to change that.

Before the referendum was announced the EU was near the bottom of priorities according to the pollsters. Decades of Murdoch campaigning against it and nobody standing up for it did its work.

Just makes it easier for you to spot the entrepreneurial members of the homeless who have contactless set up.

The new handhelds also provide advanced courses in electrical engineering to let them advance their prospects between donors.

As expected, after months of traducing polling, suddenly everyone is cherry picking polls and getting excited.

Just pointing out that it's way to early to predict the result. The polls from 2017 weren't cherry picked, every public poll between 5th and 15th May.

Vast majority of people haven't been taking part in EU elections and haven't had one fucking clue what the relationship is. Sadly, they're non the wiser as Tory Britain has conditioned the idiot masses to believe its someone else's fault for the state of the country.

And who’s fault is the state of the country in SNP Scotland?

The forecast would be based on the GERS report that you value so much Malky.

Uh huh! So is it accurate or is it a tin hat Westminster conspiracy?

Jo Swinson got ripped apart by Andrew Neill a week ago for suggesting that official Brexit forecasts showed we would lose money over the next five years when the actual report showed our economy would continue to grow, just at a slower rate than it might have done if we'd stayed in the EU. It was a shoddy use of language and this looks as suspiciously dodgy I'd love to see the full report on this one.

Malky, you are tedious, predictable and a complete horses arse. You've nothing new to say so please think seriously about leaving the forum.

I disagree. Conflicting views are required to provoke thought and debate. Without that, one may as well be pullin ones puddin.

PnB is predominantly a Nationalist left leaning population. Malky and Oaksofts persistence in the face of some reasoned debate but an awful lot of half baked sixth form politics is to be admired.

12.6 billion! and young people are feckless do not amount to a debate. It's really boring.

Aye cheers, Douglas. Have you got anything to say except SNPbad, indyref2bad and Nicola Sturgeonbad?

Does negative campaigning work?

Edit: I do like the way they don't give a f**k about Nicola Sturgeon's candidates name. Their advisors obviously think that going for the leader is more likely to hit home with those undecideds.

The Survation one was.

Its not even the latest (poll, others are newer than the Survation one).

Besides I seem to recall you getting into a tizz when the LDs were posting their Survation MRP data.

Looks like this is what to expect. Angus has the same leaflet only with Kirstene Hair and a list of things she claims she is responsible for. Sad way to run a campaign but I've a feeling it might backfire, at least around these parts. She's not as popular as she and the Tory party machine think.

That's not what you quoted, the Survation poll was released this afternoon, and I've regularly said the polls are all over the place. Some of the extrapolations from national polls to individual constituencies are ridiculous in the current context, the Lib Dem's Putney one in particular.

Quote

Twenty-five sitting and former Conservative councillors have been exposed for posting Islamophobic and racist material on social media, according to a dossier obtained by the Guardian that intensifies the row over anti-Muslim sentiment in the party.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/nov/12/revealed-conservative-councillors-islamophobic-social-media

There should be no place for this and any found to have posted content that is Islamophobic should have been punted.

The hypocrisy of them finger pointing but not acting undermines those who wish to push bigotry out of being acceptable in politics.

Johnson's shelved inquiry was just a stunt for his election.

Ross says..... 😀

Nobody checked to see if the 'disgraced ex candidate' was mentioned. Just changed the photos on the other side.

Should have said "But now Labour will do anything to get their hands on power" for giggles.

In an ideal world, Labour would ask the Lib Dems to name 50 or 75 seats that they think they can beat the Tories in, based on hard data, and stand aside in those seats. In exchange the Lib Dems stand down in the remaining 600.

Lib Dems end up with more seats, Remain vote isn’t split in Labour seats, and even the Tory marginals would come under serious pressure. A coalition government puts a second referendum on the table.

Quite obviously will never happen, but extraordinary times should call for extraordinary measures.
