Long term I doubt Israel will be able to use military force alone to prevail in that part of the world given how little strategic depth they have. At some point they are going to need something like the failed Oslo peace process to work. Have yet to read the preceding posts but the Palestinians and Jews are essentially the same people. Both are Semites - a reference to their shared linguistic heritage. One says 'shalom' the other 'salaam'. Somewhat akin to Scottish/ Irish Gaelic or Spanish/ Italian.
