Clayhole Blue
Can see another thrashing here, I’m thinkin 3 or 4 nil.. Goodwillie to terrorise that defence again [emoji23]
FREDDYFRY
Always disappointed when we lose, it’s so frustrating that we have these performances in our locker all too often. Games that would be a significant to our league position and we don’t turn up. Not dismissing Stranraer performance or end result here they were obviously well worth it. We really have to look at our constancy and have a game plan to cope with the days when we are just not at it. We don’t seem to have a halfway house between being really good and terrible. Suppose our relatively small squad doesn’t help, as ever I suppose we move on to an important home game next week.
Blue1870
Dont think Clyde played poorly at all. Max Currie saved us numerous times. It's about time we converted some of our chances tho. Could have had a pen just before the one we did get but its cracking 3 points to get us in amongst it again. Thanks to the Clyde support 138 making the trek. Cheers.
BrigtonClyde
Today's results and most weeks show unless you bring everything to every game in this league you'll catch a few. Fair play Stranraer supporters, enjoy your revenge, that's the way it should be Agree with Freddy, we're a couple light at least due to injuries when maybe we could do with freshening up 1 or 2 positions from time to time. The amount of football they've already played this season needed a slightly larger squad. Hopefully Love's not too long, same with the big lad Fitzpatrick. From what Danny said recently I'd guess Rankin will be turn of the year. Not so sure we'll see Norway this season which is the biggest loss given the form he was in during the summer Still, nice to see one of our little Queenie friends dropping by. Must've been waiting weeks for that.
David W
One of those days. Stranraer score a header (McNiff's man) from a corner. We played pretty well for half an hour or so and should have been at least level with three excellent saves from Currie from Goodwillie x2 and McNiff. Then a poor clearance by McNiff leads to a shot from the edge of the box that Mitchell got a hand to and couldn't keep out. Second half was dire but again we missed a couple of great chances through Goodwillie. Ended up with McNiff up front, but still trying to pass through them?! Didn't see the penalty incident, genuinely thought the ball was running out of play and had a glance at my phone. Did think the ref missed one just before that for what looked like a shirt pull. If you said pre kick-off we wouId send DGW through on goal four times, you would expect a couple of goals. They'll rightly say after Broadwoood that they deserved a break or two and being 2-0 at halftime must have seemed like a gift. Saw it out well second half. Stranraer are a limited team but their midfield pair worked harder than ours did. Lamont, McStay, Wallace all contributed nothing, and Grant was poor as well. Johnston was our best player by a mile.
Karpaty Lviv
Well that was terrible. Stranraer defended brilliantly and as Goodie should have scored five or six, they scored a high ball (they won every one all day) and a cross ball we didn't deal with. Daft penalty at the end when we were clutching at straws. We had two great chances either half (the one on the line in the second half was a great clearance), we don’t have much complaints. Stranraer done us. No other way to say it. They aren’t great but on their home patch they know how to battle and get points off the better teams.

BullyWeeStonehouse
Well done to Stranraer. We were pish and as has been said Goodie missed 4 or 5 one on ones/ good chances. Stranraer were clinical. They also clearly wanted it more today and were first to every ball. And every 2nd ball. That is easily one of the worst performances I've seen from us since the joke League 2 days. It's even more disappointing after last weeks result. We need to stop turning in these performances after we get big wins like last week. Anyway, onwards and upwards and Stranraer fully deserved their win today.
BullyWeeStonehouse
Also, McStay, Lamont & Grant were anonymous all game. No dig in the middle of the park whatsoever today. TxRover
7 hours ago, You Only Live Twice said: Our consistency does seem to be a cause for frustration and concern. How about not worrying as much about this? As this week has shown again, consistency is far from a League One trait. Consistency requires a lot of elements to properly mesh, and as has been noted, without full time players in most of the league, it’s unlikely to occur. Combine that with the thin staffing in this League, and we have a recipe for highs and lows. Toss in the, shall we say, intemperate weather on many an occasion, and it seems to usually be more about taking opportunities rather than rewarding slow and steady. If you take advantage of your opponents when they are weakened, if you scratch out draws when you should have lost, when you get the points by hook or by crook, you have the chance. Points will be tossed away, a perfect season is 108 points, but 60 is pretty much assured playoff territory...that’s 1.67 per game, or 20 points after 12 games. Now you need 44 from 24 games, or 1.83 per game, still pretty doable.

macclyde+
I said after the Montrose game that we can't get away with even a slightly below par performance in this League, as the quality is better and every team capable of winning any game, especially at home. It's going to happen, but I expect us to bounce back again next week. Good omen for Stranraer is the last team to beat us (Montrose) have won every game since!!
Sao Paulo
Pity Kevin Nicoll can't be seconded-in for these games. One of the few men feared by the Uruk-hai.

SLClyde
As has been said we were well below par yesterday, far too many didn’t show up. Thought Mitchell could’ve been better with the first 2 goals, especially the second. Howie played like he did at the start of the season, Lyon poor too. Mcstay and Lamont didn’t find a Clyde man with a pass all game, Goodwillie missed chances he should really be taking at least 1 or 2 of them. Johnston the only one with real pass marks.
The Clyde Man
Another disappointing show from our present best available from our depleted squad . Particularly after last week’s display. Inconsistency seems to be our game in this league. It doesn’t help when we seem to be able to create plenty of chances to score but don’t take them. Goodie is still giving defenders problems and setting up chances but not putting enough of them away. The same goes for others who he sets up. As for our defenders, some are not up to League 1 standard. All we can hope for is more consistent displays when our injuries clear. -
BrigtonClyde
Neither a grass pitch or Mitchell had anything to do with that result. True we should've got at least a couple goals ourselves but we've an honest bunch of lads who I'm sure would admit you cannot defend like that and expect much The first goal's a simple header from a corner and the second's brutal from our POV, the Stranraer lad's not even caught it cleanly, but ultimately gets past 3 of our players from outside the box We've improved a lot defensively & yesterday's just a reminder that they can't afford to step off that standard even slightly or that's what will happen. Hopefully lesson learned
