I don't think they're actually expecting anyone on a Scottish football site to be taking out loans in Finland. However, this person is getting paid to make the company appear higher on Google searches. One way that Google calculates which companies to show top is how many times links to that company appear on other legitimate websites such as this one. So these shills spend their days registering on hundreds of different forums. They know that if they just post their links straight away, they'll get binned. So they try and blend in on their first few posts and just join in a few random conversations. Then they go back and edit their post later when they think nobody will notice. Where they will always struggle on a forum such as this though, is that unless their first post is on the merits of ICT providing players to Fort William or some other Scottish football topic, then they'll stick out like a sore thumb. Most of them have Russian email address. Doing this must be quite a miserable existence tbh.

Given the result of this ended up costing all the banks pushing it literally billions of pounds you’d hope that they’d factor this in to how they sell and tailor products now. Somehow I doubt it though. I work for a tam shank and they don't push "sales" at all really.

I don't doubt this still happens but regulations from the FCA and the like mean they basically ask if you need it or ask if you want a quote. Before they used to be able to try scare you into loans/insurance/credit cards etc. It's nothing like what it was.

They can’t be on the same money they once were?
Nutz_the_Squirrel
I went in to open an account for a young person recently and they played a video showing all the Terms and Conditions etc- every angle was covered from a regulatory point of view. Couldn’t believe the change in 12 years- that would have been a quick ‘sign here and get out’ back in the day.

When we were selling loans we were expected to get a minimum % of applications to include the PPI. Can't remember the exact numbers but it was in the region of 70%.

Lucky you still have a branch to go to , went into my alternative “ new” branch 15 miles away , to pay in a cheque ( my old dear isn’t going to do a cash transfer ) and was pointed to a machine , politely refused , said I wanted to interact with a human. Why ? The machine is quicker , really ? As a proportion , it’s negligible after my 20 minute drive , so unless you want to be next out of a job I’ll use the branch for branch services , thanks said the old so and so an 39.9% interest on overdrafts , 0.4% on deposits , payday loans from RBS Edited March 3, 2020 by bishopburn boy
Dosser-fae-the-shire
It depends on your level of spin. You can either say that people wolingly and knowingly took on loans they knew they couldn't pay back or you can say the banks forced money on people who had absolutely zero ability to think for themselves. I prefer the former. You’re an utter fuckin idiot fantasist. Bank staff were incentivised to flog debt to people they knew would not be able to repay. These people were desperate for money and the banks knew it. Normally you post a lot of shite but you’ve raised the shite bar here. Clown.
