Karpaty Lviv
So about a month ago my controller was working fine, then overnight the home button stopped working: Nothing happens when I press it. Batteries were changed etc, nothing. It works when I connect it to a usb cable so I can still use it, however it’s annoying having to go through Cortana to get to the dashboard. Yesterday I bought a new controller just to see if it’s just my old controller that’s had its day, a wired one from CeX. Nothing, wouldn’t even turn on with the usb. Went back and replaced it with an official wireless one, again absolutely nothing. So I assume it’s my Xbox itself. I’ve tried the reboot, unplug for five minutes method and also the controller update in the settings menus but nothing has worked. Any ideas how to fix it? The Xbox itself is about 4-5 years old.
Mordecai
Have you tried resetting the wireless on the xbox itself? It's a button on the left hand side, then hold in the wireless button on the back of the controller until it flashes quickly. Then leave it until it connects properly.

Aye tried that. It flashes once then blank. No idea what’s wrong with it.
