Ayr United’s Next Permanent Manager

I believe that the new manager coming in will have much better control of our up and coming players and a number of these guys will be on longer contracts , we are in the position that we need to build from within ( there are a number of reserve players that in 1-2 years will be decent acquisitions ) he will keep a core of 8/10 and build a team around them , we will see this season through comfortably enough and will be a stronger more consistent team ( players )  from next season and not in the position to have to build every year

That sounds very encouraging to me.

If whats being rumoured is true and we face losing more important players in the summer, then over time the continual dismantling and rebuilding has to catch up with the club and that will eventually lead to a relegation battle that we'll do well to survive.

We can't force players to sign extended contracts but if they aren't going to stay then we have to start selling them if possible in January. To keep losing prized assets for free cannot be sustainable, its applauded at the same time but ultimately unsustainable for a club of our size.

Specially if going back to part time goes ahead as I saw discussed on here previously.

Why would we go back to part time when we’re currently striving as a full time club and having our most successful period in years.

Finding out the wage might cut the six down.

My thoughts are, it would suit someone Glasgow or south, with media work to supplement the wage. By that reckoning I would say Huston fits the bill.  John Hughes travelled through as a player and does stuff with the SFA in Glasgow.

Ayr fans so used to supporting a diddy club that they only consider candidates who live reasonably close to Ayrshire whilst Kilmarnock are hiring managers who have been heavily involved with Juventus, Chelsea and the Italian national team.

”John Hughes travelled  through as a player”

What a time to be alive

Gates struggling above 2000 and a reliance on an owner who not only harbours ambitions of selling up but who continually makes up a shortfall.

Apart from that no reason at all.

Getting better gates than Morton and Queen of The South. Don’t see them threatening part time football.

Never gets old, does it Dindy. Just like Killie's Europa campaign.

We also got more prize money then both last season but still had to cut our playing budget by 10% in the summer. Did either of those clubs have as much cost cutting and is that a good sign that full time is sustainable?

We're pulling in much larger crowds than both these sides yet supposedly have a lesser budget, as such I'd say they along with others must be heading for serious financial problems, if we're struggling...........

You've taken a grand total of 11 points from a possible 24 and are currently sitting 7th in the league while you've already been humiliatingly papped out of the Europe by a bunch of part time welsh dumplings that Partick Thistle have even managed to slaughter.

Perhaps you would have been better (and much cheaper) to have hired a "local diddy" as your Manager as opposed to an expensive foreign one............
