RAYMOND BUCHANAN TESTIMONIAL

 

The Testimonial Committee formed to organise the Testimonial year take great pleasure in confirming details of the Opening Event to mark Raymond’s 10 years of exemplary service to Vics.

 

Sunday 20th October

Family Funday, Including Vics Legends match

Dam Park Stadium, Ayr

1-6pm

Over 20 former players, mostly from Vics and some other great friends that Raymond has made in the game will return to Dam Park for a Legends match, with Jim Geddes managing one side and another ex Vics manager George Grierson managing the other.

This is a funday offering the chance for Raymond and many ex team mates to enjoy a game together and pay tribute to Raymond’s service.

A full list of players competing will be released soon.

The day is being organised so there is something for everyone.

 

Kids Activities

There will be a bouncy castle, face painters, and plenty other activities to entertain the kids.

We hope that teams from the Vics Youth set up will put on an exhibition match prior to the game and also at Half time.

Stalls

There will be various stalls such as Home Baking, confectionery, kids clothing and many more

Bar Facilities

The Bar will be open between 1 and 6pm

Admission

Will be £5 for Adults and £2.50 concessions.

We hope for as much support from the Community as possible to get Raymond’s Testimonial year off to a flier. More details on the other activities will be revealed in the coming months.

A reminder that Raymond’s Testimonial Opening match takes place at Dam Park on Sunday 20th October.
A host of former Vics players, many more from his time at Girvan and other friends will participate and include, Lee Holland, Tony Balfour, Graeme Barbour, Martin King, Chris Black, Ricky Hanvey, Kevin Lyle, Kevin Aitken, Mark Shanta, Sam and Gary McFall, Jamie Tait, Steven Glass and many more.
The day will be a great day out for all the family with doors opening at 1pm and the match will ko at 2:30pm. There will be a host of stalls offering arts and crafts, gifts, kids clothing and many more.
Tickets for the match will be available at Saturday’s match versus St Rochs priced at £5 for adults and £2:50 concessions.

Game day tomorrow, looking like decent weather so hopefully the big yin gets the turnout he deserves.
Doors open at 1 o’clock with plenty stalls to keep the missus happy while the footballs played

Good luck to the big man today, totally deserved.
I still remember when he played with us all those years ago and his brother attending the games to support him.
He was also influential in bringing Moffat to us which was great for us.

A true gentleman and a great player, I hope he has a great day at his testimonial and well done to Whitletts for giving him this.
