Clyde vs Stranraer

Recommended Posts

I really pick my time to go on holiday! Although, in saying that the updates from my two boys at the game coupled with Tenerife sunshine and all inclusive drink has made up for missing the game.
Well done guys and all hail Danny, Allan and Goodie, you have made a middle age man very happy tonight...thank you [emoji106]

Played against us for Dumbarton when we beat them under Chapman. Howfin. Just like his namesake, John. Nothing whatever to recommend him.

By the way, a few years back I took a slagging for saying that the quality in the Scottish leagues was generally on the slide and had been for circa ten years. This was in the context of a discusion about letting the Colts in. I don't think that's disputable any more (that we're on the slide; the colts are another matter). Look at the Championship down to league two; the teams in them and the players making the grade. And look at the bottom (and top, really) of the SPL. We're so very obviously on the slide, and that's to say nothing of the national team. The quality difference between the leagues is narrower than it's ever been.

One of the real positives for us (Clyde supporters) is that we've got a gang that's been together a while, have some true quality in Rankin, Goodie, Grant, McStay and Johnston and are playing the best football we have in recent memory. We'd take most Championship teams at Broadwood, Dundee United aside. We're one exception to the rule, if you like.

Fantastic result and really starting to show the league what we're about now.

Time to start looking up the league and aim for a cheeky double promotion.

Keep our home record good, coupled with a few decent away wins and theres no reason we shouldn't be around play offs or higher come the end of the season.

Agree with this. The strong home record will be very key to our season. A lot of inconsistent sides in this league.

Just shows how good of a manager we have. Mistakes were made, big mistakes, and within two weeks they were eradicated and now we look a fantastic side, playing great football. I'm just enjoying the last 12 as when Danny leaves, the next appointment could make or break us.

Anyone heard when Norway n rankin back

Apparently one of the pins in Rankins knee went so hes going back to see the specialist about it.

He was out running on the pitch on Saturday before kick off.

Currie has a foot on the line for the third (saved) penalty so it shouldn't have been retaken. Second one isn't a penalty and the first one is inconclusive from the highlights. Seriously doubt that Clyde needed that much help from the ref to win the game yesterday but thanks to his performance it was quite a spectacle.
