accies1874
Ignoring injuries, international retirements etc. what actually is our best XI of eligible players currently playing? Due to Tierney's injury problems, Griffiths' issues and the constant rotation at CB, I can't remember the last time we put out an XI that I thought "yep, those are the best Scottish players in each position". I think the closest we've got to it recently was either the 4-0 friendly defeat to Belgium* or the 2-1 win against Cyprus**. * Spoiler Gordon Souttar Mulgrew Tierney Fraser McGinn McDonald McGregor Robertson Griffiths McGregor Gordon, Mulgrew and McDonald would probably be the exceptions ** Spoiler Marshall O'Donnell Mulgrew McKenna Robertson McGinn McLean McGregor Forrest Brophy Fraser Marshall, Mulgrew and Brophy are the exceptions here, although Marshall's done well since being recalled. I know there's a lot more to it than simply picking your best XI, but it's just something that I've wondered about for a while.

ScottishZizou
If Armstrong was playing for a team that didn't play only four midfielders and played regularly he would be in our best XI

Haggis nut
We've got a stronger squad than northern Ireland, centre backs aside. We need a system and the players to look like they give a f**k
Caley Shaun
Marshall (he's proved himself this past double header) McCrorie or Fredericks McKenna Bates (young centre back pairing) Tierney Snodgrass McGinn Armstrong Turnbull (not sure his position but he deserves a shot, if he is a Cm then put him there and Fraser on the wing) Christie Griffiths. -

Not sure of his position, jesus christ! He is a Central midfield player, but we have a huge amount of options in that area, still feel he will get a chance soon when back fit. McCrorie is not a right back, but would be good to get Fredericks, as he is playing at a high level and looks a decent player, better than O'Donnell imo. I think McGregor has to be in the team as well, instead of Armstrong who gets nowhere near his club side.
