Barry Ferguson would still be involved in games against those teams. Almost certainly... considering the knock-on effects I'd speculate only East Stirlingshire v Auchinleck (if Broxburn) and possibly Spartans v Auchinleck (if Deveronvale) would have won out, e.g. quite aside from the Ferguson factor 'Up-n-coming' Kelty v 'Whatever became of' Gretna would have made an interesting "story". BBC were always going to pick Auchinleck, Edusport, Fort William or Kelty... getting 2 in 1 made it a stick-on, and it's arguably tie-of-the-round anyway, that or Fraserburgh v Bonnyrigg. However there's considerably more "story" in this tie with Ferguson, Kelty targeting SPFL2, 'plucky village Juniors', etc. and they previously showed Auchinleck-Ayr (and Junior Cup finals on Alba). Lokloyal
Will be an interesting yardstick for the junior game here.
Lokloyal
I should say as a PS that much as I loved Pollok being involved in the senior cup before Auchinleck qualified I could see that the pace and accuracy of senior teams would generally wear a junior side down over a season were we to get to that.Would like Talbot to keep the junior flag flying but I think this tine it might be very tough?

8MileBU
All that confirms is that the BBC know who the Kelty manager is[emoji4] Do you think if it was Kelty v Dalbeattie or Broxburn or Gretna 2008 or Turriff or Deveronvale or various other teams then it would be the televised game? Barry Ferguson would still be involved in games against those teams. There is a good argument that its the televised game is more to do with Auchinlecks high profile run in the cup last season including a victory against Championship side Ayr United. 100% this. Barry Ferguson’s reputation as Kelty manager (to date) is bordering on non-existent or irrelevant in comparison to Talbot’s reputation as a club. Whether it’s Barry Ferguson or if Tam Courts had still been in charge, given Kelty’s success in recent years and Talbot’s long standing reputation as the big gun in the Juniors, this would still be a massive game and its about fucking time the lower leagues started getting proper tv coverage.

San Starko Rover
Decent odds on Talbot 11/4 with William Hill. Surprised at that as Talbot are a decent team and have a good record in this cup.
