Queens v Alloa

Alloa had some good individual performances. Also actually played as a team with a plan. Well worth their win. Queens were beyond awful.

Yep,  and Alloa's was a simple plan,  pass to a team-mate not the opposition,  work hard and get bodies behind the ball when opposition has possession,  play the ball out from the back on the deck and don't continually lump it forward,  close players down quickly and not give them acres of space to play in,  pass the ball forward quickly, not sideways and back.  In essence everything Queens didn't or couldn't manage to do.

In the second half in particular they gave us plenty of time on the ball but sadly we were absolutely clueless as to what to do with. The fact Dobbie took a stroll through their midfield and defence in the second half suggested to me that there defensive shape was hardly indestructible but unfortunately for us we had no one in midfield with any idea as to what a forward was.

Fair comment, but it would be asking a lot of them to keep up a high tempo throughout the entire game and going a goal in front probably meant they sat a bit deeper giving us more room to come forward, they still effectively nullified most of the few attacks we managed and were quick out on the break.  Play like the Dobbie one you mention isn't exclusive to the Alloa defence, he has waltzed through plenty of "better" defences, he will ,or should, get some chance to do that in any game.

Was impressed with the Alloa midfielder with the long hair in a ponytail. Fantastic performances from him.

Can we sign him today please ?

Was his debut as well, Blair Malcolm, was at Cowdenbeath last year. Played in our reserves on Monday night and replaced the suspended Hetherington and by all accounts had a great game.
