Arbroath vs Dunfermline Sat 31st Aug

Recommended Posts

What impressed me most yesterday was how well we controlled the game after we took the lead. The midfield kept high and pressured and didn't allow Dunfermline time on the ball.
I couldn't work out the Dunfermline tactics for distribution from the back, it was far too slow and sloppy and no urgency you would have thought it was them protecting the lead.

Donnely hit his shot well and hard and with the wind it was a great strike but the goalie should really save do better.

DJ had almost nothing to do the whole game and a well deserved win. Out of the starting 11 today Murphy is the only one who wasn't there last season and you can see how well organised the team is on the park.

Whatley shining at this level due to us not being the favourites. His work rate and harrying and keeping it easy really shining though. Same with Gold, fit fit guy who's good with the ball. McKenna on the wing works very well too when the impetus to break teams down isn't on us like it was last season he's been great the last two games.

After having seen 4 teams now plus a couple of games on the tv we really are lucky to have ToB too. Yet to see a better centre half at any other team I'd take over him.

Our midfield 3 were brilliant yesterday, whatley even had a shot at goal!

Not too try and start moaning again... makes all the signings in that area really odd. No sure how much game time Stirling is going to get. This Virtanen chap sounds like a player and can see him coming into there somewhere.

Campbell even said after the game there’s a nice balance between the 3, david gold should be one of the first names on the team sheet, i can only imagine he came off yesterday due to fatigue, chased absolutely everything

Our plan whilst in possession.

1.Give Center back ball

2. Make some slow sideways passes

3. Look up field aimlessly, make sure you’ve given Arbroath plenty time to get organised (something you are good at)

4. Punt ball to isolated Nisbet.

5. Lose header and subsequent 2nd ball.

6, keep trying this despite 0 success all game.

Who is that clown standing beside the boy filming it

Really comes to life in the second half

f**k U DUNFERMLINE

I was stood next to him in the first half. Interesting character.

He kept going on at Coley after he dived ‘You okay Coley!? Now get in the fucking sea!’

Can't wait for the Jags game -considering their form; we could well win that too!

Murphy looks a class act.

What a start to the season though! Cannae ask for more than that, a 9/10 start.

10/10 if we got that draw up in Inverness too when we really should have. Qots could've went either way. Alloa game we totally controlled. Dunfermline we definitely edged it never in trouble. 4 games 3 clean sheets.
